Re: Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizen

The worst case if child travels to India using Indian passport is only that I might be required to pay £145 extra during renunciation Indian passport of my child, right? This is as per what is stated on https://www.hcilondon.in/renunciation.html 3. Travel each time on Indian Passport after acquirin...

Re: Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizen

Yes.. the child would fall outside the grace period if I were you I would get the British PP and then travel.. considering you might look for getting OCI later which would become trouble some for the child if the Indian authorities find out that he has travelled after becoming British. It is not an...

Re: Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizen

Make sure you are within the 90 days grace period. Your considered British from the date of your ceremony/certificate date, not the passport issue date. A question regarding this. The ceremony for myself, spouse and our son was in early June and we received the certificates on the day of the ceremo...

Re: Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizen

Fingers crossed about getting back documents before the trip.

But back to the original question: Assuming I get my Indian passport back and can therefore travel to India, what is the view about being able to enter UK again using ILR card (instead of British passport)?

Re: Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizen

i thought everyone needs to send the current passport while applying for First British Passport? You are right but I am fairly certain the return of documents will happen in time (if that doesn't happen then yes I will need to cancel my trip). I am talking about the scenario where my current Indian...

Using ILR Residency card to re-enter the UK post citizenship

I have recently acquired British citizenship (via naturalisation). I have applied for my British passport. I am also aware that I can use my Indian passport for travel to India without penalty during the grace period of 90 days from the date of naturalisation certificate. Now I am due to travel to I...

I do see that Amex is not mentioned as a form of payment here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/britishcitizenship/nationality-fees.pdf But the Homeoffice does mention Amex as an accepted payment for alomost every other immigration category. For example on this page http://www...

Incorrect spelling of my name in Tier 1 acknowledgement lett

I recently applied for a tier1 visa. I received a Home Office acknowledgement letter a few days later with an application reference number. However, I noticed that my name had been mis-spelt in the acknowledgement letter. I am pretty sure that I had not mis-spelt my name when filling up the form. I ...

Address proof - is it required?

I sent in my Tier 1 application and dependent application for my spouse and son yesterday. Ours is a switching application as I already have a Tier 2 visa and we have been in the UK for last 3 years. I have not included any proof of address / accommodation proof in my app / dependent's app? Was this...

In the Tier 1 in person appointment, can it still be the case that they charge the fee and then end up telling you that your docs/ evidence are not in order and therefore your application is refused? I mean one of the risks of postal application is that for any minor documentation issue, your app ge...

Admin review for in-country Tier 1 applications

Just for my info, what happens if an incountry Tier 1 visa gets rejected and we find that the case worker has made an obvious mistake by overlooking something? Incountry refusals mention that there is no right to appeal. In such a case, what is the means to get the obvious error, on part of the case...

Info about previous refusal of Tier 1

The last time that my spouse and myself had applied for a Tier 1, it was rejected because I had not supplied the correct bank statements for proving availability of maintenance funds. Now we are applying again. Do I need to mention anywhere in the Tier 1 form about my previous visa refusal? I didn't...

New-borns / infants / children aren't classified separately. Just as a spouse is, a child (new born or older) is also a dependent. And documentary evidence(s) needed .. for dependent applications ... is the same across the board. regards So you mean that original birth certificate for infant is not...

Re: ILR eligibility two years down the line?

I have been living in the UK since Aug 2007. Until Feb 2009, my visa type was 'Work Permit'. Since Feb 2009, my visa type has been Tier 2 (Intra Com Tran). I now plan to apply for a Tier 1 visa in the next couple of weeks and I expect this to be valid for 2 years. My question is that two years down...

Where did you get the info that Intra company transfers do not lead to ILR? This link seems to suggest that ILR is an option for those on Tier 2 ICT. ht...
