RDB wrote:Anyone worked out the average waiting times?

By the sound of it about 12weeks, is that about right?
Seems about average, although mine took about 16 weeks and I know someone else on here waited 19 weeks.

wait times for ILR

buzz_killington I know how you feel. I was so upset I had to cancel flights and miss a wedding that I was supposed to be a bridesmaid in because of the wait times. They are not sympathetic at all to your situation but the thing that annoyed me the most is that if they specified on the actual applica...

Hi, Guys, need an advice. I sent my wife's application around two weeks ago. Obviously had to include my passport. I've got a situation now and need my passport back before Wednesday next week. Any point in contacting the HO for my passport? I would've thought it shouldn't affect my wife's applicat...

Can someone who has received their passport back with ILR let me know if it came via regular post, or did you have to sign for it? Thanks. Hello, Received my ILR today. I knew it was coming but the delivery times they give were from 9am to 6pm and I had to work. I thought I could pick it up locally...

I has no idea it could take up to 6 months. What a shock. Surely that would only be if its not straight forward? What are they like about ringing them up to check you haventbeen forgotten about? Will they tell the state of your application over the phone? You'd think more straight forward applicati...

traveling on an emergency passport

dtmbass, I was too in this same situation. I applied for ILR in August but did not realize the wait times were so long and I was due to travel to the US for a wedding in October. I phoned the US embassy in London and they basically told me that I might be eligible for an emergency passport to get to...

still waiting

Paulhino, Have you tried to contact the home office to see what's taking so long? When I phoned they said they don't have any information unless it's been 14 weeks and you are way past that by now. You will see in one of my earlier posts that I received a letter a month ago from the home office expl...

what???

I don't understand. People who've applied around the same time or after me have already received their ILR!?! My case is so straight forward, both my husband and I work, own our own home, have no dependents and don't receive any benefits. I don't know what's going on, it's been 11 weeks and still wa...

waiting....

The problem is that nowhere on the form does it say the wait time could be 6 months, if it did I definitely would have paid the extra £200 and gone down in person. I only found the wait times by doing a google search after I applied by post, somewhere through the link you can find it on the home of...

Hello, For those of you still waiting for your ILR I just received a response to my letter asking for them to expedite my case. Basically they said they cannot expedite my application based on my circumstances and they are currently dealing with applications received on the 20th of July. Good luck t...

expediting ILR

Has anyone else on here sent a fax requesting their application to be expedited? Did you get a response? I feel like they are ignoring all my letters!

expediting

Hey guys, I've been desperately calling the home office to see what I can do about expediting my case. So far I've been given 2 different fax numbers by two different people at the home office. I've faxed a letter on the 17th of September pleading my case without a response then was told to fax anot...

no hope

I guess it's not looking good for me then! I was hoping someone would have some good news but it all seems like a waiting game. I really don't want to have to tell the bride to be that she may be missing a bridesmaid. If it wasn't for me being in the wedding I wouldn't be sweating it so much but I r...

ILR

Thanks for the reply, I was afraid of the answer! We still have 2 full weeks left before we're forced to cancel our travel plans or not. The £200 they charge you to apply in person just seems wrong when you're already paying £820, it just doesn't seem fair to keep people waiting for so long withou...

indefinite leave to remain waiting times

I've been reading all the posts on the topic of indefinite leave to remain. I am a US citizen, married to a brit for the past two years and living in the UK for the past 3. We both work full time, own our own home, have no dependents and are not accepting, nor allowed, any government handouts. I app...
