You could try applying for discretionary leave, outlining situation. You would be basically applying outside the Immigration rules using FLR (O). But you really need a solicitor for that. You could get married and applying for spouse visa. But I would do both get apply for FLR (O) and get married. N...

Does photographs, cakes and all that really matter?

My boyfriend and I planning to get married. My LTR doesn't expire until April 2010. I don't want the whole big hoopla of a wedding. Does it really matter when apply for a spouse visa? My mom recently died and I just can't see myself in the white dress, photos, cake and all. I can always do all that ...

Have you checked with your solicitor or that they have your current address? I've never ever seen anything like that. Two weeks is usually the norm.

I think you should ring and find out.

If your fiance has overstayed and your British its highly unlikely that they will allow you to do an in country application. If you apply for COA whether it was on UK Border force or not, you can be sure even if they grant which is what they do these grant the COA and then they come and pick you up....

I'm not 100% sure but i don't believe you'll find that form on the UKBA site. As far as I am aware the Home Office usually send them to the applicant's Solicitor.

They usually have to filled in by the date given on the actual form, so you do need to hurry up and find out where it was sent.

i've been here for 18mths.

Just make sure your docs are well organised, and keep copies of everything. What I did before was to put a cover letter with my application listing the enclosed documents. You have to use DHL don't you to send, if that's still the procedure?

Actually no you don't need to do anything. Until you change your visa, if you wish to change your passport to include your married. You could still travel on the old with your visa stamp just as long as you bring the new one as well.

Personally I wouldn't bother as it's unnecessary.

Your best bet would be to set up a trust company in Jersey/Guernsey which are tax free havens. Then transfer the house to trust company for your daughter. Then its effectively hers but in trust till she's 18 when she can hold the property.

You can't transfer property to a child below 18yrs. What you can do, if seriously wish to do so is to have it put in trust for him/her.

Mind you, if its a case where you wish deny someone a share property it can get a bit more complicated.
