After 4 year engineering do you have an MEng (master of Engineering) ?

If so you will need to look at a PhD or find a masters that is considered complementary to your previous studies because it won't be academic progression.

When your private insurance cover runs out and there are always limitations on the cover for serious longterm illnesses, for example cancer, what are you going to do? Leave the UK ?

Thats why an opt out doesn't seem like a viable option.

For the record you can't study as a visitor - unless you specifically entered as a Student Visitor - I think that has been the case since 2007.

But wouldn't they have a problem verifying online bank statements?

I have enough trouble getting my bank to tell me anything about my own bank account, I would think they would just refuse to give any information to anyone else no matter who or why.

I thought T4 funds had to be in an account in the applicant's name (can be jointly with another person) or in parents' name with birth certificate and letter of consent to use the funds for study.

I don't think funds held by anyone else such as a brother are acceptable under T4
