Hi, During the period between getting the British Naturalisation certificate and receiving the British passport, can I still travel in and out of the UK using the foreign passport that has the ILR stamp on it? I am a frequent overseas business traveller, wondering this is a problem, ie whether I ha...

If you have a masters why can't you switch to an HSMP? My advise is follow the rules, never try and cut corners with the HO because it will catchup with you. Go by the book. I would look into the HSMP or work permit route as they seem to be your best bets. Unfortunately the visa you were on do not l...

"sodedra" I sent mine on the 1 Oct under 5 years wp+tier 1 and not heard a thing. We all in the same boat. It is sad that the HO does not consider that people have lives and will need to travel. The sad thing is you pay a lot for the visa's and unfortunately i can't say there is much value for money...

Re: Current ILR processing

Hi goody09 Your comment was comforting as i applied about the same time. I applied for ILR on the 1 Oct 2009 and this was based on 5 years as WP +Tier 1.I qualified for ILR on 24 Oct (timelines almost the same). I have not heard from the HO yet and it is true that they may take to six months, howeve...

@ "khaweriba"

The one that says 95% of postal application within 6 months is the one applicable to HSMP ILR JR

The other refers to those making initial applications or extensions for the Tier 1 visa (previously HSMP) and is not related to ILR.

Hope this helps

Quicker to stay on the HSMP route. On a spouse visa it might take another two years to apply for ILR at which time the Earned Citizenship rules will be in place and therefore take you longer to get Citizenship.

Much easier to get your ILR now.

Re: HSMP ILR JR Processing time

@ khaweriba''

My assumption is that the backlog is partly due to the summer holidays. Two friends applied for their ILR under HSMP JR at the end of June and beginning of July and both got their passports back within 3-4 weeks.

Hope this helps. Kind Regards
