Re: Tier 5 - GAE: PhD student / academic visit

Hi

Did you manage to find out which route you will be following or have followed. A friend is in similar sort of circumstances but applying from Pakistan and going through the same sort of confusion.

Any advice or anythings we should keep an eye on.

Thanks

So I think I understand. Basically - the judge said ... "look - you applied outside the rules ... and yeah - they've got a family life - and you probably qualify under the 317 rules ... but because you were appealing an article 8 application - I can't rule on whether you ACTUALLY qualify under 317 ...

Thanks Greenie. It means they can apply within the rules but can also add a bit about discretionary leave as well in the application.

As their visit visa remaining for another few months, is it 100% that they wont get an appeal if the application is not successful?

Hi

Does anyone know how these changes are implemented?

Are they put forward to parliament for approval or UKBA can just add them onto their website on the evening of 31st May announcing their implementation from 1st June (assuming the remors are true about the announcement date)

Thanks
