Germany allows dual nationality in certain cases, one of them being when acquiring another EU nationality. I'm German by birth and acquired British nationality later, now I have both. For this no prior permission was needed either. Edit: Obviously this depends on the other country allowing dual nati...

When I got my letter it had the wrong country of birth on it. I was told to go to the ceremony and return the certificate afterwards together with a letter explaining the mistake. I did that and about 2 weeks afterwards they sent me a corrected certificate.

Hope this helps,
Andrea

My country of birth was incorrect, I attended the ceremony anyway, received my incorrect certificate, posted it back to the UKBA, and received a new one about a week or so later. I used this to apply for the passport.
Hope this helps.

I didn't know either, I left all fields regarding grandparents blank, even their names, without any explanation and got my passport anyway without any questions regarding grand parents.

I also applied with these documents and got my passport so it was fine. I think the birth and marriage certificates are only needed if you are claiming citizenship via your parents, not when you've got a naturalisation certificate.

When I went we were each given the text, the person conducting the ceremony said each bit first and we repeated it all together as a group. No need to memorise anything.

It is similar to your example and is for implementing a system, I don't think that they can easily find Canadians for this job though as it's not a known system like SAP or Oracle. :) I guess it's not as straightforward as I had thought, so I'll take your advice of enquiring at the High Commission f...

Sorry for not being clearer. This would ideally be for 6 months, and it would be someone employed by the British branch of the middle east company travelling to an existing customer to help them set up their system. The customer would pay the middle east company for this service. Maybe it's more of ...

business trip to Canada for British citizen

I was wondering if anyone knew whether a British citizen, working for the London branch of a company in the middle east, can go on a business trip to Canada, and work for the same company but at one of their customer's premises please. What are the visa requirements, and how long would they would be...

Hi, To be honest, it makes no sense to me for even the worst immigration officer to discriminate against your boyfriend because you are disabled. You said that his refusal says that it was because you are disabled and can't support his stay though, is that really was it said? I think I would underst...

My name has the letter 'ü' in it, which I replaced with 'ue' on the ILR and BC application forms (since that's equivalent). I explained it separately and that didn't cause any problems, ie my original passport uses 'ü', my British passport uses 'ue'. I'm sure they are used to all kinds of variatio...

Chances are you will be quicker than your husband anyway. Until I got my UK passport I always travelled with my EU passport, there are no questions, no stamps, no nothing. They will just check that the photo is you, put the passport in their machine (I assume to check if there is anything against it...

I can't remember exactly but it was quite quick, I think I received my documents back after about 10 days, and I could have made an appointment for the interview within 2 days after that, but I did it a week later since that was better for me, the passport arrived 4 working days after the interview....

I only sent the naturalisation certificate and my current (forgeign) passport. This is not the passport I entered the country with since that was 20 years ago and I don't have it anymore anyway.

I received my passport so I guess that was ok.

I had my passport interview today as well. They asked me virtually the same questions, so I guess that's standard: - spell your name - what's your address - when did you move there - date and place of birth - where abouts is your place of birth (seemed that he just wanted to check that this didn't t...

I don't think you need to actually prove that you were here, as long as they can't prove that you weren't. I also had no stamps in my passport and no proof that I was here either but they never asked and granted citizenship anyway.
