@Yusfaith - thanks Yes, I called the HO quite often once 5 months had passed, I dont think it made any difference really to getting my application processed faster. They work at their own speed @Kellyman - I was calling pretty every other day in the last month and from the time that they told me it ...

Called UKBA again, its getting to be fairly regular now. EEA4 application is in its "final stages". They couldnt confirm a decision but assured me it wouldnt be too long now, nice girl on the phone who didnt sound surly at all and actually seemed very pleasant and talkative.
Humanist I obtained a new job with an investment bank while my passport was with the home office. I went through the most stringent background checking I've ever encountered for any job. Despite that, there was no problems with the lack of passport. I provided the UKBA employer helpline number and m...
Just off the phone with UKBA. I have been assigned to a case work team and my application is "still under consideration" now @ 5 months, 3 weeks and 2 days... I've been pretty much been calling weekly to check status.
Hi, update: Just called UBKA re EEA4 as I am now 5 months and 2 weeks from application. Still not been assigned to a case worker or case work team. Asked 1) How long are current processing times before a case gets to a case work team or caseworker - they can't provide that information as they only p...
That sounds like too much of a reasonable and sensible idea for ukba to take up. As mentioned before, people from other countries just won't believe me when I tell them that they hold on to your passport for the duration.
Okay, so called HO this morning on 0151 672 5626 about my application. It has not been seen by a case worker as yet (5 months after applying) but it has been checked for completeness. They are trying to process them within 6 months but it could take "slightly" longer (couldn't pin down how long "sli...
Unfortunately I am still waiting for that magical piece of mail to arrive through my post box. Its now been exactly 5 months since I posted it. I did recieve the COA after 3 weeks but getting a bit fed up as to why a straightforward application like mine is taking so long. My EU spouse excercised tr...

Sent my EEA4 application in today 22/02/2010. Lets see how long it takes :( given the horror stories I've read here so far I am a non EEA national (Canada) with an EEA National spouse applying for EEA4. Have been in the UK for 6.5 years, initially on a 1 year EEA family permit, then had extension fo...
that's a relief. It was the bit that I was not too clear about. I dont think you can really say that the UKBA website is clear (or even informative really!) The big plan for the weekend is to get the documentation together now (and photocopy everything in triplicate as the last time i dealt with the...
I guess my question is, once my EEA National wife has excercised treaty rights (employment in this case) for 5 years does she have to continue to excercise treaty rights (e.g employment)?
Hi, would appreciate some advice. I'm Canadian and we moved to the the UK for 6 years now with my EEA wife (Finland). She is at home now with twins and has just left her job after mat leave finished very recently. (nursery for twins is kinda expensive :( She has been working here over 5 years contin...
