Dependent Maintenance Fund Confusion

Want a clarification from mates who had the experience about dependent maintenance fund.

If the Dependent is applying separately, does he need to show maintenance for himself alone, i.e. £533 or he need to show £533 + £800 even if the main applicant is not applying with him?

The PBS cannot get any where easier. All the changes and strategies are making it more difficult, especially the Tier 1 General.
And it seems that one has to use Self Employment to support earning before it achieve enough.
