However, if you apply too early, the expiry date of the extension will also be correspondingly earlier. Is this correct? I thought that regardless of the date you submit your application (by post or in person), the 2-year extension would start from the date the original visa expires. Can anyone con...

simple question about entry date to the UK

Hi, I'm applying for a tier 2 General visa to start working in september. On the application question of when do you wish to travel to the uk, I put a date 2 weeks before my start date (according to the CoS) because I read on the UKBA website that I can enter the UK up to 14 days before the start da...

I apologise for not being clear. I don't require a visa to enter Ireland, the UK or most European countries (in the Schengen area) as a tourist, for up to 90 days. My entire trip is 2 months, but I wish to visit other countries as well. My final return will be from Dublin. Should i notify the immigr...

Are u refering to PSW or Tier 1 General? psw is fixed length visa. If someone wants to continue their stay in UK then they can switch to tier 1 or tier 2. Tier 1 requirements are going to change , it is suggested by the committee, sometime this year and that is what the original post was about. i.e...

Tourist in Ireland wanting to travel to Europe

Hello, I am planning a trip to Ireland to visit my boyfriend. I'm from South America (don't require a tourist visa) and I'm traveling to the UK first for a job interview. Since it's an expensive ticket just to travel for an interview, I thought of spending 2 months with my boyfriend in Ireland. I'm ...

An optional visit visa? you mean at the Consulate/Embassy in Venezuela? If Venezuelan citizens (with a biometric passport) are not required to ask for a visa to enter the UK as a visitor, can I still request one? I had no idea this was a regular procedure. Could you suggest any otherdocuments that w...

Visiting the UK as a tourist with no proof of employment

Now I am looking for a job in the UK and I have been invited to an Assessment Centre as part of the recruitment process of a large company. I don't have a Post Study Work Visa or any o...

Hello, I found this topic really useful, even though it's not my case. I just have one question regarding timeline, will this stamp 4 (that entitles to work without a work permit) be issued to the spouse of the irish citizen withouth any delays? will it be done on the same day that you show up at th...

Re: any news of future changes to psw in 2010?

I finished my MSc in Sept 2009 and unfortunately can't apply to the PSW visa because i had been fully sponsored by an organisation. However, I will apply for this visa in Sept 2010 while being still within 12 months from the "date of award". Has anyone heard if there are any possible changes being ...
