Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

When I had applied for my OCI last year, I had collected the card and got the sticker in my passport in person from the HCI London office. However, now I see from people's timelines that they have posted their passport and then received it with the sticker in the post. Is it no longer possible to go...

OCI Collection Timings London

It seems like the OCI Collection times gave changed very recently (23/12/2013) It used to be submission of documents before 12 and then collection at 430 pm, which meant spending the whole day. However it seems like they've changed to a more sensible submission of documents between 2-4 and then coll...

You should get the papers in the post (or via Secure Courier if you paid for that when applying) before the Interview.

You then get a letter asking you to make an appointment.

You attend the appointment.

The passport follows by Secure Courier in the next 4-5 days.

The 874 includes the cost of the ceremony. I didn't have to pay anything extra.

The only additional expense could be the cost of applying via NCS.

Congratuations !

Hey could I just check the date of your Approval Letter, the timeline threads are abuzz with some sort of IT Problem plaguing approvals since 25th July.

Be interesting to know the date on your approval letter to understand if we have seen off this alleged IT issue.

Cheers.

The NCS Case Worker will do all the copies for you. They will photocopy all your passports, Life in the UK Test Cert, Marriage Cert etc and return the originals to you there and then. If you're self employed or if your passport does not cover the residence requirements, then you may need to suppleme...

Thanks Amber, I'm not sure of what the technical term for closing down a company is, but I think the Accountant used the word liquidation, or maybe that was just me.

I just wanted to check if it was safer for me to wait until I get my BC, or whether it was of no consequence.

Application through NCS, Good Character Requirement

I have applied for BC via NCS on Sat. I was wondering if there was an expected timeline of when I could expect the NCS to forward my application onto the UKBA and when I should expect to receive an acknowledgement. I read about some tech problems plaguing the HO which is preventing them sending out ...

As long as she got her dependant tier 1 or equivalent visa before july 2012, she can apply directly for ILR as long as she has leave to remain until then - which she seems to have. This is as per Section 319(E) http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/immigrationlaw/immigrationrules/part8/fami...

Yes as long as she got her dependent visa before July, she can apply for ILR after 2 years. If she is on a Tier 1 Dependant - she needs to use SET(O) If she switched to an FLR(M) (ILR Dependant) when you got your ILR, then she needs to apply via SET(M) http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/...

ILR Success at Croydon on 27/12

I was granted ILR (based on Tier 1 PBS) in Jul 2012. However I could not include my wife as she had not completed the 2 year qualification period (she was in the UK before Jul 2012, so the new 5 year criteria did not apply). She had Tier 1 Dependant Visa valid until Jan 2013, which meant that she di...

I had a similar query - I was granted ILR in July this year and am now applying for ILR for my wife (she is currently on Tier 1 PBS Dependant). Therefore the appointment is just booked for her - will I be able to accompany her for the appointment, as she is a dependant ? Or do I need to book a separ...
