Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

I applied for naturalisation on 28 July, and I received the invitation to to use the IDV app on 30 August. I completed the verification, uploaded my documents and submitted them via the app today (31 August). Likewise. Took me 2 min to take some selfies and submit, which otherwise would've taken me...

Re: should supporting scanned documents be self-attested before its uploaded, for the oci online application

You are scanning the original documents into a pdf file. So please do not deface your originals by signing them Just scan your originals as it is. It's the photocopies that have to be self attested!.! For previous nationality you should either click none or leave it blank (whatever it allows you to...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

This is the thread but members have, as usual, taken it completely off topic. Postal can take a few months, six months and sometimes much longer. I think its because this topic does not say 'TIMELINES ONLY' in the header, it just says 'Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications' would b...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Yep, it is indeed in the SET LR checklist , at the end of the online application. (one of the pdf files you download)

May be they want to make it easy for themselves when the spouse/dependant switches to FLR-M at some point ?

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hi why is spouse/dependent passport/biometric card required to be sent when only the main applicant is applying for SET LR ? the documents checklist for SET LR is asking for original 'Document's showing 'Spouse's immigration status' such as passport/biometric card' the checklist also asks for 'Origi...

Re: Applying for UK visit visa outside of home country , possible ?

Your safest bet would definitely be to go back to your home country and apply from there. Although what you are saying makes sense but for some reason “legally present” really means eg on a work visa or permanent resident visa (something longer term than a visit visa) Thanks for your input. Kind of...

FYI skilled migrants coming to the UK contribute £££ millions to the UK public finances every year, by paying more in taxes than what they receive in benefits

Re: Applying for UK visit visa outside of home country , possible ?

To apply for a visa from a country which is not your residence country, you have to have the right to live there, i.e. NOT be a visitor in the country! Hi. just to clarify, It's for a short term UK visit visa , and as per this link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/where-to-apply-ecb05/ecb...

Re: Applying for UK visit visa outside of home country , possible ?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean to say only 'resident' visa holders can apply from the application country ?

Why can't someone who is in a different country on tourist visa, make application for a UK visit visa in that country as a visitor?

Re: Forms for extension of dependents

Yes you can submit online with all your dependants added in one application. i.e you can add your child to your wife's application. Before submitting your wife's application you'll have to pay for the health surcharge fee for both your wife and your child (i.e One IHS reference number paid together ...

Re: Long end date on cos

Whether or not the visa is issued for upto 6yrs or rejected, it seems they will definitely ask for the increased visa fee if your end date is simply over 3yrs in the COS. Unless its clearly mentioned in the sponsor note. This is just my understanding after reading a few previous posts on here.

I logged into my Tier 2 online application and do not see any fields/sections to add in my IHS reference number. Is this normal ??

IHS fee: Pay together or separately for dependant?

Hi Could you please help, I'm applying for a T2 extension along with 1 dependant who's with me. Is it one single IHS payment and one IHS reference number for the two of us ...

Re: Tier 2 Visa Extension (Fee issue)

I wonder if you'll get another letter from HO, saying that you have only paid IHS fee for 3yrs and not for the additional 17days , since they can come up with anything !

paying an additional £664 fee is just ridiculous, especially when they're not going to issue the visa beyond the total 6yrs anyway.

Re: Tier 2 Visa Extension (Fee issue)

What is a sponsor note? As it is not possible to edit a live CoS, if any of the previously submitted information is incorrect, your HR can add a sponsor note on the COS to provide the correct details. I'm kind of in a similar situation, thanks to your post just spotted that my extension COS is 3yrs...
