Re: Confused: BRC or settled status

Cool, might have to cut it too close to deadline as already applied for EUSS before they announced the changes for Citizenship based on EUSS and some originals needed for both applications are with EUSS application processing. Its not clear, what would happen if we were to apply in say, Dec, for EEA...

Re: Confused: BRC or settled status

It seems that BRC for EEA-PR can be exchanged for Settled Status but is it also possible to apply for EEA-PR after already having Settled Status ? The key advantage would be not having to wait additional 1 year from date of receiving settled status.

Re: EU4FAM (people who applied recently)

We applied mid-november (18-Nov), got Stamp-4 early Jan and then sent all documentation by Feb after some back and forth. Then heard nothing untill 2 weeks ago when we received the approval 1 day before six months were up. I suspect they do final checks on employment etc couple of weeks before six m...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

That is interesting .. seems like part of their new simplification plan.

In anycase, it took us 7-8 weeks for the ack, which despite xmas, is quite a long time. However, I hope you
guys should get it sooner now that they should be back from holidays and operating at full capacity :D

We sent on 20/11, but some people who applied the following week got it before us .. so I guess it might be a week here or there.

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

We were away for a couple of days and when we returned today, found the brown envelope with our passports and Ack letter for stamp-4. It wasn't a registered post item as we didn't have to sign or collect it. It might seem they have a team of 5-10 people who pick up batch of applications received dur...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

So seems like everyone's waiting.

If I was to visit in person to check status of our application, do I just queue up with everyone else from 6:30am ? Or
can I go during the day ?

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

No response to email which is very frustrating.

However, I found out about someone who applied on 30-Oct and got Stamp-4 on 20-Dec, so effectively, took them 52 days or 8 weeks, so I'm applying that calculation to my expected date and will update once I hear something.

Re: How long is C entry visa valid for?

Usually 3 months, however, the start date was 17th but was confirmed processed on 22nd and we received it on 25th. I know someone else's case where the start date was 1 month before the date processed so you may get three months but there may be only 2 months remaining.

Still nothing and no response to email from the department. Strangely everyone's waiting.

Guys,
Please don't hijack this thread - its for genuine applicants to share their timelines not to fight
or advertise stuff.

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Apparently, there are delays for many stamp-4 applications, don't know why. Found out about 2 other people who have been waiting 3-4 weeks already. I just noticed the below on their website, not sure if they are waiting for their new system to be live before they will start processing applications A...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Yes, very frustrating, we're also stuck without our passports and is simply delaying everything. If there are many people waiting, I suspect they are simply not issuing acknowledgements to avoid people queuing up before christmas time when their office is probably not operating at full capacity. Wha...

Re: EU court tells Britain to remove visa rule for non-EU ci

A couple of issues: 1. Its referred back to UK high court so they need to rule on it, which has two complications - time and twisting 2. Twisting - now UKBA will try to find a way to twist terms in this judgement and create new rules around it making it even more complicated to pass the test. e.g. t...

Re: Extended Family Members Application (Brother) Refused

Is this the first time you applied ? did your brother not apply for a type-C visa to join/accompany you as dependent ? Have you submitted any evidence showing your brother NEEDS the money e.g. spending receipts, his bank statements showing the funds you sent were used for his personal expenses etc ?...

I'm not sure but seems like the employer doesn't want to be involved in this visa process.

We're trying to advice to get reference letter as a generic statement rather than anything specific for visa purpose.

But are there any alternatives, just incase this doesn't work out ?

It turns out that father's employer is refusing to provide reference letter, leave letter or payslips so we are unable to prove employment and he lives alone independently using income from this job.

Now our concern is how can we show ties so that he'll return after the visit ?

Family / Visitor visa for lone parent

Dear gurus, Would like to apply for visa for my father (widowed) who is 66 and is still employed by a small firm. He holds valid US visitor visa but has never visited (hence visa not used). His other child is my sister who is settled in the US. What are the chances of him securing UK visitor/family ...

Found out what was the details here. My case is different as my...

Thanks Vinny. We only got married in July and she just moved to live here with me, so unfortunately not been living together for long.
