never been on student visa.have always been working..so combination of visas including hsmp and permit free etc,though could have waited till next year to apply on hsmp category.

great news to update.got the ilr yesterday.stamped 30 april received 6 may. so exactly around 3 months waiting. the forum has been of great help and support.last month i did get the mp to fax them a letter but they wrote back saying that they cant speed up.have not been through solicitor and my advi...

statistically that means if you dont get result within 6 months,you could be waiting ages...but again this could be skewed by the odd application taking years. Boonbin thanks for the info.Dont know if the admittance by ukba that they dont meet their targets should be a good evidence for complaint..m...

coolboy and procastinator you both need to stop fighting and focus on the real issue which is the inefficiency of ukba.As for no way out, i think u can contact mp after the elections,but please keep pestering them.A complaint is a must now..collect the evidence now and then when the mp comes in post...

no way out you have an absolute right to make a complaint.Just like our predecessors tried,maybe you should give a go writing to Immigration minister as well.I know they are busy with elections but at least worth the try.

kiwigirl i agree we need to keep patience and it seems there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I think positive responses from december applicants are encouraging.from now on its just a matter of luck i guess.
However cant understand the logic as to why nowayout has such a wait.

Imagine if our predecessors hadnt contact mp/written letters etc, how much more delays they would have had to encounter.If you dont highlight your problems by writing to the ukba you have no chance of getting the message across.Be proactive.If you have a contact detail in your letter write to firstn...

Beige the responses you got from ukba was the same robotic ones which our predecessors got.Even contacting mp is of no use now cos they themselves are unsure till the elections.

If the jan ones are cleared then i hope mine is done soon.Its like the volcanic ash no idea of when things will be done.But the application is very straight forward so not expecting delays/surprise decisions as there are no gaps etc
