Hi, I am applying for the naturalization (5yrs WP +1yr ILR) and i want to change my son's (7yr old) name before that. All his indian PP and visa has the original names and i want to cut the lenghty name into to shorter (First &Last names). If i change his via deed poll before Naturalization applica...

Don't worry. It's fine. Many forum members have applied with just the sticker without providing treaty rights evidence. You don't need to prove anything to NCS. If they are not familiar with the rules, ask them in the appointment to call the HO to verify. If asked when booking the appointment wheth...

Yes - he said that EU passports "aren't a good record of residence because of that" .. but then I told him that mine only had two entry stamps - which themselves weren't "legal" -- but he didn't seem concerned. I got the feeling (esp w/ them accepting a scanned & emailed letter from an employer) tha...

If you've since attended your NCS appointment and been successful I'd like to know. :) Heey seputus buddy... I remember you. M...

Don't worry. It's a common mistake. People tend to interchange the two terms as if they are one (just check the ILR forum and you will see many people state they have PR). For the purpose of the requirement for naturalisation, they are the same thing (free from immigration control). Thanks... hope ...

Yes assuming that "obtain PR" you mean obtain the PR confirmation vignette in the passport (the status itself is obtained automatically). With the PR sticker there is no need to provide any EEA related evidence if applying 12 months after the sticker date. Jambo, I've been reading through "EEA4 / N...

:) I have to say.. I had mixed messages from all IOs when I had an EEA2 stamp .. but since receiving my EEA4 sticker, every IO (which I've come to through the UK/EU channel) has looked at it, swiped my passport, sometimes asked me if I'm still living in the UK (which is ok), once asked me if I'm sti...

Hi Josh, I'm still not convinced an appeal is the right route since the UKBA don't seem to have incorrectly made a decision. e.g. to take this to the extreme, if you submitted all required evidence, but left out your passports and they refused you, an appeal should not be accepted since the UKBA was...

Josh, I think the others have figured out what the problem was - but I'd like to emphasize it. The evidence you submitted seems only good enough if you were simply trying to prove residence and treaty rights. This is fine when you're applying as a bona-fide family member of an EU national, as the EU...

Yes, form EEA4.

As to when you can apply, you can apply as soon as you have your fifth year wedding anniversary as it is at that point which you acquire permanent residence.

Same as with residence card; use the EU line; no landing card; no stamp. No need to be accompanying or joining anymore either, you're independent of EU family member. Hi all. Silva you're right - they do have to let you in. So while you may not qualify for permanent residence, when you come back to the UK they will have to let you in - at least on a "Code 6a" stamp or whatever it's called .. then once you're in again you could apply for another 5 year EEA2 stamp.

A point to make though andrej is that yes you can apply for BC 1 year after the specific date you acquired PR, but if you do it < 1 year from the date of issue of your PR stamp then you'll have to send all the documents you originally sent to prove PR in the first place...whereas if you wait 1 year ...
