Apply for ILR before or after business trip?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply for ILR in July this year. I am planning to book a PEO in-person appointment since I did this the last time and felt it was worth the extra money to get an answer on the same day. I'm eligible to book an appointment between July 9 until August 6 (August 6 is the da...

CW will know the first application date as it is logged in their system. Better take the letter and rest assure that you will be assessed based upon rules prevalent on 16th July 2010. Take the print out of PBS calculator where you are required to input the first date of application. Best of luck. T...

Tier 1 (General) Extension - Pre-19 July 2010 Attributes

Hi Guys, I'm preparing for my PEO Croydon appointment I'll attend next month. I've gone through the application and most of it is the same as last time but I have a concern. No where on the application does it ask me for the date of my initial application date for my Tier 1 (General) visa (it only a...

When did Parliament vote in the new visa fees?

Hi Guys, Does anyone know what date the new visa fees were voted on in Parliament? I can't find anything on Parliament's website or by Googling... I know it was between 9 Feb-28 March. I want to know because I wrote to my MP asking that they vote against the fees, and it wasn't until after the vote ...

Apologies for the typo error in my earlier message, which has (now) been edited accordingly. When applying from within UK, it is the date on which application is posted (mail) or received (courier). When applying from outside UK: 1. In countries where there is no online application system, it is th...

There's a few places online to protest against the cap

The coalition government just launched a new website last week, where they want people to voice their opinions about how to make the country better. Go here to tell them your opinion on the cap on immigration: http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/restoring-civil-liberties/abolish-cap-on-skilled-non-eu-migr...

Re: What paperwork needed for working for self-employed pers

Hi Sushil, thanks for your reply! But I don't really understand your reply. I am not self-employed and I will be receiving the money into my US bank account and plan to keep it there at least for quite sometime. What do I do in this instance? I am in the UK. I want to get a Tier 1 (General) visa fo...

Re: What paperwork needed for working for self-employed pers

I'm going to be doing some work remotely for my mum who lives in the US where I'll earn around £5k over the next coming months that I'd like to use to contribute towards my income when I apply for Tier 1 (General). She is self-employed, but she will be employing me and paying me over the coming mo...

Claim earnings from 2 countries worked @ the same time?

I currently make £25k and so I'm £5k short to qualify for the Tier 1 (General) visa. My mum has said that she would hire me to do some web design work over the coming months so I can make up the extra £5k before I apply by the end of the year, but I would be working for her company that is not in...

Switching from Tier 1 (Post-study work) to Tier 1 (General)

I'm pretty confused about the new points system for switching from Tier 1 (post-study work) to Tier 1 (General). I previously qualified for switching into Tier 1 (General) but I'm not sure anymore. I am 25, have a UK Masters qualification, am a native English speaker and earn £25k a year and have l...
