Klesk,

If you heard anything since, could you please provide an update on your case. My sister is in the same situation - was issued a letter in March asking to provide documents within 21 days, but she only received it yesterday.

many thanks

shawinam, my understanding is that your wife can apply for ilr (as a wife of a settled and present person in the uk, etc) as soon as you get your ILR - because she's been granted dependant visa in the first place and has been your dependant for over 2 yrs now. (a) Yes (b) No Provided all the same ru...

Answers to your questions are: 1) NO - as under 10y LR settlement no dependnts allowed (she should be ok to apply for ILR as Set(M) and use the same day service at PEO once you get your ILR). My partner and I are in the same situation - it is annoying as you dont' know how long would postal applicat...

I'm sure this will not be an issue (assuming you have received a confirmation letter from HO and have a copy of your previous visa - as it will be valid until the decision has been made). If prospective employer wants to hire you - they can always check/confirm your status with the HO

I would find it difficult to justify my hsmp/tier 1 if I was working as a security officer with c.£14k p.a. Almost anyone with few weeks/months of training can do the job in question, I wish you the best of luck with your application, hopefully all goes well for you

thanks ILR-2010 for the response. The situation is that she is already eligible (technically) for the ILR as she's been here since Jan 2000, however we do not have proof of visas for the first one year - one would assume/hope that Home Office would have all the visa letters/document copies/landing c...

Correction from Dec 2000, thus it would come to 10yrs in Dec 2010

Since than she has been extending her visas into her adult passport (fist was issued on 20 Dec 2000) - only 1 visa was issued outside the UK (dependant).
