I've used the Glasgow PEO three times and the experience have always been positive. Once in 2003 to apply for permit-free training, got it no probs. Second attendance was in 2004 for the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland scheme. There was a problem with my paperwork (incomplete evidence), and the ch...

You send all uncancelled passports including the one you entered the UK with and your naturalisation certificate given to you on the day of your ceremony. Does that mean that we have to send our expired passports as well? I came in this country 8 years ago on my 1st passport which got expired to be...

I could be wrong, but after looking at the timeline thread a couple of times, I think there may be three teams dealing with applications: the fast one (finishing a case in about one month time - those who applied in June and have got results in July could have been processed by this team), the medi...

The status quo, ie doctors accepted, remains. I just got my approval today, having applied late June. Both referees are doctors.

Likewise, I've been told by the call handler on UKBA telephone enquiry helpline that doctors can indeed still act as referees.

I lived in Scotland for 11 years and my MP very much had a presence so I wouldn't hesitate asking for his support. Actually for a while my MP was Donald Dewar and I lived next ...

No stamp

Hi Jas I had applied for 10 year ILR and there were a few entries into countries which didn't get stamped in my passport. I made a note of this in my covering letter. I think this should be ok. UKBA itself doesn't stamp one's passport when he/she returns to the UK from Ireland, for example! All the ...

ILR consideration process

Since all our application forms get sent to Durham, does it mean that the Initial Considering Unit is based there? If the applications are allocated to various offices around the country - would this refer to Further Consideration Units? It sounds completely random. Just like how one office may be s...

I fully agree that international students contribute significantly to the local economy. Some of our fees were just exorbitant! They can always say that it was our choice anyway :? My feeling is that 10 year student applications may be more difficult for caseworkers to process because it doesn't 'fi...
