Parent moving to the UK in son's home. Proof of residence for banks, GP

Hi all I'm a British Citizen and my mother is a Portuguese Citizen, but who's lived in the UAE for the past 5 years. She has moved in with us and plans to live with us for the next couple of years to help us look after the kids. I'm trying to get her a bank account and also registered with the GP. B...

CGI Birmingham Contact

Does anyone have any alternative numbers to contact CGI Birmingham? I've tried calling their number over 200 times (seriously!) this morning, but I'm constantly presented with a User Busy tone.

Re: PIO discontinued?

This is ridiculous! The notice was circulated on the 9th but was put up by the Consulate only on the 19! I have 3 applications in limbo, and I haven't got any acknowledgement, no notice, no nothing.

Re: PIO Timeline

Has anyone applied for a PIO recently? Preferably by post to CGI Birmingham? Please could you contribute your experience/ timeline? I sent through 3 PIO applications on the 3rd of Jan this year.

PIO Family Application - Combined fees

Hi All,

I am applying for PIO for me and my family using postal applications. Am I allowed to combine the fees for all three of us in one Postal Order?

Thanks

PIO for me and my spouse

Hi all I surrendered my Indian passport 5 years ago when I became an UK citizen. My wife (UK citizen, not of Indian origin) and I have been married for 4 years now and we have a 1 year old son. I'm planning to apply for PIO cards for all three of us. I wanted to know if we can all apply together, co...

Thanks for your post. I'm planning to visit India for Christmas, so I'm torn between applying for a PIO and a normal tourist Visa. I know I've left it late, but perhaps in this case, the visa seems to be my best bet if I wish to travel on time.

PIO Timeline

Anyone know how long a PIO application will take at the HCI in London? The website says it is only 7 working days, but I'm not so sure. I already have my surrender certificate, will this make it quicker?

NHS - Free treatment?

Hi all I am British and my father has come to the UK to join me permanently. He is a Portuguese (EU) national who has been living in Panama all his life and he's been here only a week or so. He's suddenly been experiencing chest pains and I was wondering if he has access to the NHS? Also, since he h...

NiiKpani, totally agree with you about the quality of posts on this forum. This topic is meant to be giving people an idea about time scales, but there's people who're posting silly questions like 'what's the colour of the envelope sent by the HO'. To those who have applied, have patience, there is ...

HI Guys, following up on my previous post, I received my confirmation from the HO today and it was dated 25th of June, which means it took them 5 working days to make the decision. The crazy this is that I have to wait a month and a half to get to the citizenship ceremony, but tbh, I don't mind all ...

krimith, perhaps it would help if you just didn't blurt out without thinking. Jamalkhan, can you give some more details of the nature of your overstaying? I'm not sure if there would be a problem, but then again I don't work for UKBA. But this might help, it is taken out of their guidance notes: 10....

Hi John, Thank you for your reply. Sorry, I should have been more clearer in my question: I have been a lawful resident for just over three years (I entered the UK on the 22nd of May, 2007) and yes, I am using the NCS. I am a little surprised that the supporting documents required are very few compa...

Naturalisation - Documents Query

Hi All, I'm about to submit my application for naturalisation as the spouse of a British National . I have had 2 years on my spouse visa and 1 year ILR. I am a bit worried (maybe unnecessarily about the application as you might imagine) as a few things are a bit unclear to me: Do I need to send any ...
