Many thanks for all very helpful comments and advice. This makes me think I should perhaps apply for T1 (G) extension, not having to wait 6 months for a RC, and not disadvanted by the 'clock reset' for PR. Although T1 (G) extension costs more, but the anxiety of waiting and inconvenience of not havi...

Thank you, this is very helpful. To prove 'Economically self-sufficient', does the UKBA require a minimum amount of money available on a bank statement? My spouse does not work but reside in the UK. Is it okay to show my payslips and our joint account with my income to prove my spouse (EEA national)...

Many thanks. If I understand you both correctly, I can continue to stay and work in the UK. After my T1 expires, do I only need to show my employer the marriage certificate and spouse passport in oder for me to continue my job? I understand that I need to apply for a residence card asap, but I gathe...

T1 (General) change to EEA family member, How?

Hi, I am on Tier 1 (General) employed in UK. My T1 expires on 19 Aug 2012. I am married to an EEA national (Germany). Can I continue to work in the UK without applying for T1 (General) extension, and without having to leave the UK first and return as a family member of the EEA national? Advice would...

need advice from senior members regarding T1 (gen)dependant

Hi, when filling out the form VAF10, I noticed no. 89-94 are related to the main applicant's employment. My case is a bit special: I have been in my current employment for the last three years and I will be starting a new job in a month time. I put my current employment details on the form because I...

Thank you very much for helping. I have just gotten my Tier 1 switched from Work Permit within the UK (so no entry stamp on it). I guess I will need to provide photocopy of my old work permit with the entry stamp and photocopy of my new Tier 1 visa. The documents my dependant is going to submit are ...

Speak to a manager and explain the situation. Be firm on your requirement and you might have to try a few branches. Also, try calling the cust services once again. I have been out all day to all branches open on Saturday in my area but it is the same old story(have been to 5 branches in total). The...

Documents for dependant: is rental contract required?

Hi, I obtained my Tier 1 one week ago in the UK and my dependant is going to apply outside the UK. I have read many people supply their rental contacts in the UK as a supporting document. I read through the entire policy guide but did not find such requirement. Can someone please clarify this? 2nd q...

It is good point. The company seems like a large and credible company. But I wont know the real image until I am through with my case. They told me it is not unusual. But from the information I have collected from various sources, 2 weeks is a bit long. Assurance or advice from the forum members wil...

My documents were posted via Royal Mail Next-day delivery on Friday, 16 July. Up to now, I have not received the acknowledgment letter from the UKBA. I realised it takes much longer to apply in the UK than outside. I wonder why.
But as far as I understand, if your application has been submitted before 19 July, old rules apply.

ukba info is a bit out dated and not very useful. I have been told the number of applications might be rising sharply before the new rules take effect on 19 July. It will be good to know the current waiting times which might be much longer than before...

In country (UK) application waiting times

I was going to apply T1(General) in person in late July. But due to the interim measures that will take effect from 19 July 2010, I have decided to submit my application by post this week. I have tried but could not get an appointment to apply in person for this week. I have been trying to find out ...
