Hi,

I am not sure what is the current process but it is worth to write to HCI London .

I noticed recently that Sushma Swaraj's twitter account is actively monitored hence it is worth to highlight on her twitter account incase it is a genuine case of money making by VFS.

You need to obtain surrender certificate prior to applying for OCI. It is one of mandatory document.
hence surrender your passport first, obtain certificate then apply for OCI.

In my understanding :

1 ) He cannot stay in India beyond expiry of his visitor visa.
2) Immigration officer will ask to produce his OCI book when he leaves from India, If he hasn't then he may encounter some issues.

You must book an appointment prior to submitting application otherwise they won't allow you in.
Please book an appointment and submit application on behalf of your child, You don't need to take child with you.

In my opinion, everything is important on OCI booklet.
Do you have copy of your submitted application form ? if yes then check spelling there first before contacting HCI telling their mistake

No they will not accept. You better be safe than sorry..
Complete fresh application. If you have an appointment booked. take both old and new form together, show old forma and appointment letter for entry and explain at counter, Hope they will happy to help

You will likely to see long queues again as OCI and Passport applicants are required to book an appointment prior to visit.
