Re: No Surname in Indian Passport - British Passport Issue

Thanks again.

I will make a note in the additional section.

I am also pretty sure that only normal witness is required who is not a relative. My confusion was to whether we need one or two....in some websites it says two and some only one.

Re: No Surname in Indian Passport - British Passport Issue

Many Thanks. Couple of questions. adopt... from the date hereof the forename of Mike and the surname of KHAN in substitution for my former single name of Mike Khan 1) The wordings quoted above clearly highlights what is needed if there was no surname in the IP. Did you have to request to get these w...

Re: No Surname in Indian Passport - British Passport Issue

Created deed poll using https://deedpolloffice.com/change-name (i am sure there are others also) – current name include Mike Khan, for surname leave blank and it asks whether you have left it purposely – say yes. New Name put Khan as surname – this way in the deedpoll the difference is clearly high...

Agree that the solution is not the same for all nationalities.

Am not sure how to get this sorted out, should I first change the name on my Indian Passport

Do not change names until you get your OCI (if you plan to apply for it).
Manka10, Can you please explain why?

Re: British passport and name split

Sham, That is great to know! I received my approval letter just today (letter dated March 15) and will ring Council on Monday to see if they have my Naturalisation certificate. Re: British passport and name split

If it is the https://secure.deedpoll.org.uk/DeedPollAdult.html link, then there is a helpline number in that link you can call to find out whether to leave blank or enter XXX for current surname. My question is why are their two links (and different forms) for the deed poll, i.e. are both links (the...

Re: British passport and name split

Sham, Just wondering what is the difference between these two sites for deed poll https://www.gov.uk/change-name-deed-poll/make-an-adult-deed-poll and http://www.deedpoll.org.uk/ In second link, one can clearly see separate questions for forename and surname (see below link. Re: Email from case worker today..please advise

Thanks again.

Another point is my driving license has surname and forename split correctly, ie. surname BBB and first name AAA. If I have in my British passport XXX as given name and surname as AAA BBB, will this cause any conflict and problems?

Thanks Ohara. I did a good search on the forum. My doubts still are 1) If I choose to go through a deed poll, will I have to apply for British passport twice? That's first get one with XXX as first name and AAA BBB as the surname and then get the deed poll after which reapply for British passport wi...

This salary is based on 37 hours (source:Migration Advisory Committee)
i think it should be 40 hours.... it looks like 37 hours is only for electrical engineers (national grid submission to MAC). Please double check though.

Tax credit - Is National insurance number required for both?

My family has been granted ILR status about a month back. My wife does not have a National insurance number yet as she hasn't worked so far. We are planning to apply for tax credits. Is it ok to make a joint claim with just my NI number? Can we make the application without the NI number for partner?
