Yes, I agree that's the best, but I don't have much time. And what a waste of money for someone else's mistake! I am going to send it in as it is with a covering letter.

However, does the OCI reflect one's father's surname?

If they have made a spelling mistake in your fathers surname on the surrender certificate, would it matter too much while applying for the OCI? What would happen if you don't get this corrected before applying for the OCI? Is your fathers name reflected in the OCI?

We went with the nursery manager (she is british) and my British friend (an engineer from an Indian institute) for all of us and had no problems whatsoever. The engineer friend signed as a professional referee on our forms, while the nursery manager on the kids.

Hope this helps

It says that I should still attend the ceremony and return the certificate to them for amendment. Does this mean that I cannot apply for p...

Dgat, once UKBA makes a decision, they send out a notification to the local council as well. Our council called us up as soon as they got the courier from UKBA to tell us that our application has been approved. I guess they know that the approval letters will reach us eventually! I think it depends ...

How much did bracknell ncs charge for the private ceremony. We have applied on the 5th and awaiting a decision. Did the bracknell ncs ring you up after they received the letter from the HO?

Thanks

Thank you Smallfamily for your quick response.

Is there any reason why one needs to be in the country for 5 working days? Is this a rule or something that the HO advises.

Thank you,

We are a family of four (2 kids - 12 and 6) who will be applying for our citizenship next month. We received our ILR on 14th December 2009.
