Update, I sent my BRP back to UKBA and they sorted me out with a 3 year extension.

Glad I caught it in time! :)

You are drip-feeding information which makes it difficult to give you accurate advice. If you indeed made your initial application in December 2010 (not the date the decision was made) and this was a completely new entry clearance application, then yes, you should have been granted a 3 year extensi...

I'll be writing a letter to UKBA....

Extension, 2 or 3 years?

Can anyone clarify if a tier 1 extension, where the initial application was made in December 2010, should be extended 2 years or 3 years?

Re: Notification of acceptance?

When I applied for my initial Tier 1 visa, I recall getting an acceptance e-mail fairly quickly from the UKBA. It's been 2 days since I posted my application. I know it's been delivered according to my tracking number, but I have no idea if my passport and application are actually in their hands. D...

Booking in person application

Hello, I'm trying to book an in person application for January and I'm not having any luck finding an appointment. For curiosity's sake I've expanded my search from Nov 30th to February 5th and I can't get a single appointment to come back for any of the application centres. Are they really all full?

Re: UKBA turnaround times - less than a month?

Does UKBA prioritize applications that are set to expire sooner than others? What happens if it doesn't get processed before my visa expires? No. Nothing - if you have made an in-time, valid application then your stay (beyond the expiry date of leave) in UK remains legal until the application is de...

UKBA turnaround times - less than a month?

Hello. I have a quick question - My Tier 1 is set for expiry on 6 February 2013. I'd like to apply for renewal as soon as I can but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to apply until 1 January 2013 at the earliest because that's when I was given an adequate salary last year. That's 36 days maxi...

Thank you for the explanation, mulderpf. That's a very informative link as well. You do raise a good point about the ILR application and explaining those days from the proposed weekend to my actual move day. I suppose it is probably best to just stay put. Thank you for putting that in perspective fo...

Entry Date is 2 months before I intend to move

Hi all, thanks for the guidance in this forum I was granted a Tier 1 last week. My entry date is 6 February, but I must stay with my current employer until at least 1 March, and after that I have holiday plans in Australia for the 2nd part of March. So, realistically, I can't move to the UK until Ap...

If you are looking at this page: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier1/general/waitingtimes/ Then that is for in-country applications. I made the same mistake before. The best assessment of where they are in the applications is this thread: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic...

No, one does not have to enter UK by a certain date - but if you will enter after the first 28 days you will need to extend your Tier 1 visa not once but twice before you will be able to get ILR in 5 years. Could you further elaborate or provide me a link to where I could read more about this? Chee...

I don't see a clear answer in this thread. If his entry clearance date is Jan 12 2011, does he have to enter the UK by a certain date?

I am in a similar situation. Can't leave my current job until March, but I had to apply for Tier 1 when I did or else I would not get one.

I am referring to the correspondence from Richard Jackson found in this thread: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=69050 Q - Will these applications be delayed due to a monthly limit? A - No. Applications submitted before 23 December will be processed as quickly as possible. You can fi...
