Re: Employment History- working holiday period

Oh ok. Good job i didnt apply last month then because i came in the UK on Jan 2009 as WHM and then got married and got spouse visa on 28th Aug 2010. So guess i would be able to apply for naturalisation after this date ? If you currently have indefinite leave to remain in the UK, and are married to ...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

Hmmmm Odd then why NCS will ask you to put the date you first entered irrespective of your intention. anyways, will the time spent on Working holiday maker count towards "5 years residency requirement"? I came on WHM in 2009 and got my spouse visa in 2010 no it doesn't count because WHM can't lead ...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

I agree with happyguy. Since you mentioned HO reference number, what should I put on Item 1.1? Is this applicable? A HO reference number is a letter followed by 7 or 8 digits. This has been confirmed by my immigration barrister who is on the UK's Bar Council. I left it blank because I did not have ...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

just put the very first date u arrived in the UK and explain on the extra information page at the back, page 23 or something, and explain as you have here. not for Section 2.1 because if you come as WHM you're meant to leave after 2 years and not have a view of settling here. If she specifies the W...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

Hi Happyguy82, Yes the employment history is added in the new form recently. I am planning to include the WHM working period, just not sure whether I should include a note saying I didn't work in between Aug-Nov2008 when I went back to my home country to apply EC as WP holder. Or may be I don't nee...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

Hi, I am going to submit my British naturalisation application next Thursday based on 5 years Working Permit (2008 to 2013) + 1.5 years ILR. I need some advise regarding employment history as I first came to the UK as working holiday maker. Some timeline below: Aug 2007- arrive in the Uk as working...

Re: Employment History- working holiday period

Hi there, Your situation is similar to mine. I'll need to look at the scans of my form to recall what I've written. Technically what we have done is illegal, I.e. Remained employed for > 12 months while under WHM. I hired a barrister to write a supporting letter for my ILR application. I'm on holida...

Re: what to do with Biometric Residence permit after approva

Thinking about that, it doesn't make sense. If they delete one's fingerprints after they attend the ceremony then how would their existing BRPs work?? What if the individual does not want to apply for a British Passport but wants to continue using their previous one? There are millions of British c...

Re: what to do with Biometric Residence permit after approva

The process as far as I know, have changed slightly, so they may or may not write back to you. The new legislations would imply (as far as I understand) that your Biometric Data will be kept till Home Office is informed of your attendance of Citizenship Ceremony. Page 13 of Guide AN says: Thinking ...

Re: Want your Biometric Data deleting once British?

I would still request deletion. If you don't, then there is not certainty when or if they'll purge their records. Why should you do it? Equality, do you want the government to have access to your fingerprints, when such fingerprints could be used to prosecute you? ditto! there's nothing to lose by ...

Re: Want your Biometric Data deleting once British?

Hello,

I have received the Biometric deletion confirmation from the HO. They don't delete photographs anymore, only the fingerprints.

I have attached the scan of it here.

Cheers.

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I am going to apply for my first british passport after naturalised as a British Citizen. I am wondering that I have 3 passports of my current nationality. 2 expired and a current one. On the 1st passport I have entered UK as a student, it was a manual passport so I applied for machine readable pas...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

OK got my passport today. The DX Secure driver had scanned it and marked it as delivered on Monday 11/05 but only delivered it later in the week. I think they had Monday as the delivery deadline so they wanted to get around that. I'm guessing they only delivered it on Tuesday 12/05. All of their tra...

Ohh wow everyone seems to be getting their passport within just a few days. I had my interview last week. I'm not sure whether the passport will arrive this week.

I have not received any SMS, but then again I've never received one from them. Does everyone receive a SMS?

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I struggle to understand the benefit of the passport interview. If an applicant comes from a country that does not allow dual nationality (e.g. India), then their Indian citizenship is void from the moment they complete the British Ceremony. At some point they'll need to give the applicant a passpor...
