Blackhole, I have no idea why it took so long as my husband's application was very straightforward. UKBA did not request any additional documents from us nor did they contact referees. I guess they are undertaking some random detailed checks for a small percentage of applications.

Finally after a long wait of 11 months my husband received his approval. Don't know why it took so long, but we got it in the end and that's all that matters.

Sam, that's interesting, my husband also applied through NCS as a spouse of BC. Anyway you can relax now and apply for the passport :) Good luck!

My husband applied in March and we are still waiting. But I guess 99% of applications from that period has been already approved. Yes guys, got my approval letter now. It took 12 weeks to come. So excited Applied via NCS on 14th March Got letter today dated 24th May They never used my Special delivery letter and send it back to me. Thank God that this wait is over now , and my prayers are with people who are waiting good luck...

Perhaps it depends a bit on the NCS you use. I would think they do save money as they send all the applications in a big packet, hence yours was sent on Monday.
