Why don't you get from your country the international driving licence to drive for some period Please disregard this advice, as Driving in Great Britain on a non-GB licence is only allowed "for 12 months from when you became resident". I don't know if the DVLA will recognise your automatic permanen...

The available guidance is rather non-specific: https://www.gov.uk/check-job-applicant-right-to-work Check if someone can work in the UK You basically have a current passport with a current endorsement from the Home Office and are entitled to work in the UK until the endorsement expires. If the NHS wants to see proof, then send them a copies of your marriage certificate and confirmation of your spouse's e...

Re: EEA FP: To accompany/to join

I don't want my civil partner to get to Heathrow and then get turned away at immigration, just because of the 'to acc' on the visa. If he gets to Heathrow, then he will also get into the UK. Even without a visa entry would have to be facilitated at the border for someone who falls under derived fre...

Re: Attempting to get EEA1 Croydon appt - Any advice?

Any advice appreciated! I'd much prefer the Croydon route to the 6-month mail-in, as I travel frequently on short notice! For EEA1 you can mail in your ID card and keep your passport (or vice-versa) and travelling shouldn't be an issue. A colleague who recently went for in-person ILR appointments o...

The English version of the visa codex is of no specific interest, as the only English speaking EU member states UK and IRL are no full Schengen members and as such do their own thing with regards to visas anyway.
