Sorry for the late reply, but no the HO didn't send us anything after all appeals were exhausted, so we applied for Judicial Review.

Today, I went to visit my solicitor today and he advised me to go for a Judicial Review so it was agreed to follow that path - making the grounds in 14 days.

The refusal seems harsh. If you cannot afford, then the option is open to you to apply for fee exemption.
