10 years - ILR

Please, could you help me with information. I was going to apply for ILR soon but I was told that student visas cannot be counted towards 10 years of settlement. Is it true?

the date on the card is just the case the card was issued it doesn't mean your visa has been interuppted. As long as you applied to extend your leave to remain in time (which you did) your leave continued under section 3C of the Immigration Act 1971 until a decison was made. Now I'll sleep better. ...

Interruption in visa?

Hello all. Please, could you help me with some advice or information. My last visa (Tier 4 general, student visa) expired on the 30th of January 2011. I sent all the documents to extend it on the 23th of January 2011. Instead of visa I received a new biometric card. The date stated on my card is the...

Iam also one of those who will be graduating next year in May 2012 :) ......what are the chances that this psw change can be challenged in court and we can win this, as we are not new students???? I would say there are lot in our boat just need to find them. Finding them is the ONLY problem because...

For those who are NOT graduating this year: The International Department of my uni said that PSW will close 2012 BUT the changes may be made before that. They believe that universities still can fight back psw. Most unis are in troubles now. The troubles will become visible in september when many st...

I agree limiting PSW visa by getting 20K job offer is unreasonable, unfair and injust. It make us become a philistine at all. For my specialized field(pharmacy), Market pay just below 20K for fresh graduated student for pre-reg pharmacist post. After becoming a qualified pharmacist, there are 2 pat...

Frst of all its not easy to fnd 20k job with in so less period of time .. What do you mean? What kind of job can be less than 20k per year? What is your specialisation? I think 20K is very reasonable. I would argue if they have said 30K, for example, which is rather high for fresh graduates in some...

True. I have two friends who already changed their decisions. They are holding unconditional offers from the UK unis but shifted to the USA because of all these disputes! Actually, I think that those students who are graduating this year are not secured yet. There is no official announcement and pub...

hazmalik, we don't know the details of the future proposals. The government has not mentioned TA today. In my opinion, they must introduce TA for the current students. We'll see soon what happens.

Right, if changes start working from April 2012, TA should be applied to the current students anyway. When the final proposals will be published?
