Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Thanks. I don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of the disparity in processing times. It wasn't a particular rush for me but I did get fed up waiting as it approached the second anniversary of the applications. Really glad to get this over with.

May 2019 applicant here. This morning (Sunday, by the way) I received the confirmation of address email. Over 25 months since original applications and 9 months since I sent in updated photographs of my children. I hope things move faster from here on and I hope this is encouraging for others who ha...

25 months and counting... (May 2019)

Team 5 by the way. Last correspondence was when they asked for updated photos (child applications) in October 2020. They got them but that is the last I heard.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

No, they did not ask for them to be signed. In fact, they explicitly stated "these photographs are not required to be witnessed".

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just an update (or lack of it). Applied May 2019 for my kids, documents received May 31, 2019. Got an email on October 19, 2020, demanding I send updated photos within 28 days or they would cancel the application (never mind that I live 3,000 miles away and there is a global pandemic). I sent them o...

She requires a visa to travel to the UK. It's just for a visit - we are not seeking to move to the UK. (We lived in the UK bri...

Thanks, 86ti. I guess I just have to cross my fingers and hope the UK citizenship doesn't become an issue. As you point out, my place and date of birth will be on the application form. Also, my Irish passport states that I was born in the UK. Ironically, I always thought that being born in the UK wo...

Thanks, Fysicus. Having read more about it more about this morning, and read your post, I think it's best not to tell them about my UK citizenship. It will create more hassle than it's worth, I think. I didn't realize that job-seeking was also considered as exercising a treaty right, so that was ver...

UK EEA Permit for non EU spouse. Both resident outside EU.

Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can offer some advice on whether we are taking the right route with our EEA Permit application... I am an Irish national, and Irish passport holder, however, I was born in the UK prior to Jan 1, 1983 so I think that also makes me a UK citizen. My wife is non-EU, and we...
