It achieved royal assent on the 26th April....is to be implemented by April 2013. The breaking the cycle green paper has technically been included. Rehabilitation of offenders Act will probably now be changed etc!

Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012

This Act has been passed now and needs to be in force by next April. Does this include changes to rehabilitation periods for those applying for naturalization as it does for British Citizens?

Hi, the fine was reduced to £30, which is a relatively small fine, so there could be hope do you think?

LC20 'conviction' and applying for naturalisation....

Hi all, I was 'caught' driving alone on my provisional licence a few months ago. (I did not hurt anyone/was doing nothing wrong, I was pulled over for no reason). I did not hear anything, until a few days ago when I got a letter from the DVLA telling me to send my licence back. I have done this, I h...

I am unsure which problem I was 'caught' under. I believe it was driving without l plates. I did have insurance (but only with someone with me which I did not know!). They did just take my car and drove me home. I did not pick it up, as could not afford to do so (that was my wifes decision). I didnt...

I was running late for an appointment and I decided to drive even though I only had a provisional. I was pulled over, and they asked me if I had a licence, I was honest and said no. (I am unsure why I was pulled over? Maybe they could see I was not the owner of the car?) the car was my wifes (britis...

Thankyou very much for your informative post there. I guess the home office needs to make money somehow. Still find it a bit unfair as I'm sure there would be uproar if it was the other way round! With regards to my partner having ILR which means there are now no restrictions placed, is that the sam...

Yes, as I am a British person (born and raised) I have to pay for my partner to settle here with me, however if I was an eu national settled in Britain it would be free for my partner to settle here with me. I was wondering why this was, it doesn't seem very fair.
