I think this situation is too important to just ask in a forum. Talking to a Belgian lawyer who specializes in that area of law might be a good idea. It may be possible for the lawyer to file for appeals and in the meantime you remain in Belgium. Depending on how backed up the court system is, it mi...

Don't know about Sweden but most countries have wised up to the marriage scam so they will look closely at the situation. If this is a real marriage you have nothing to worry about, if a scam where you barely know the other person, you will likely be discovered. Generally marrying a national results...

Experiences vary. Much depends on your general behavior, appearance, what mood the employee is in, etc. Sometimes you will be asked for the name of the hotel or name/address of the friend, good to have those on hand.

Not familiar with those areas but obviously much depends on type of accomodation and location. For example, do you need to be able to use public transport daily? or just be on the outskirts of a city and takethe train in to the city once or twice a week? If you stay home a lot will you accept being ...

Cash can be VERY expensive if lost or stolen. Travel stores sell all kinds of money belts or pouches to be worn under clothing. Also good to have more than one money pouch, or hide your money in more than one place under your clothing. Although you will be carrying less than you have to declare you ...

I am not familiar with UK inheritance laws, or SA laws regarding capital controls. Have the funds wired from the SA bank to your UK account. Either bank can do the currency exchange, as a rule usually the SA bank will give you the better % fee, since for the SA bank UK currency is a "major currency"...

Good idea to carry proof that you went for interview not just on this trip, but when you visit UK again, carry proof that previous trips were for interviews.

Have you looked into Canada? I've only visited but it's quite similar to Us, immigration requirements are clear, and there have been books written about the process which you can buy from companies like Amazon. I know it's possible for skilled immigrants to obtain residency (much easier than US) Aus...

Normallyyou cannot book a flight more than one year in advance. So you could pick an earlier return date, even though you know you won't be returning on that date, and then change it. You can aee how the price of theticket varies depending on different return dates. In general one way tickets are ve...

Don't know about UK but US does allow two US PPs at the same time for the situation you mentioned.

If not able to get two at the same time, you could try asking for a new one and have the old canceled even though it still has many years to expiration.

I agree with the "library card" comment. If still interested, spend a couple of bucks and read "Passport to Freedom: A Guide For World Citizens " by Garry Davis (used copies cost about $2 on Amazon.com) Garry Davis is the one who created the "world passport" and the book tells of his adventures usin...

If entering/exiting the UK on a UK PP, the fact that you also hold an SA one would be irrelevant to UK authorities.

JAJ, I agree that "brazilian authorities would generally expect a Brazilian to speak Portuguese" and it's a good idea to do so, because it avoids hassles, but from a legal standpoint she can certainly explain that she was adopted at a young age, doesn't speak the language well or at all, etc.

Would be a good idea to obtain an official letter from your company explaining your need to travel and what you work you will be doing there, to have proof that you went there for a very reasonable purpose.
