Hi Olisun, Your interpretation is correct. Initially I wanted to get HSMP and find a job in UK. Now my present employer in India wants to apply for workpermit and send me to the UK for 1 year. I felt that going to UK with my current employer is safe as I need not search for a job. After a year I ca...

looks like ur company wants to make sure people dont leave the company and work for others. maybe thats why they are insisting on work permit and not allowing hsmp. or maybe they are not aware of hsmp / tier 1 and that it allows u 2 work in uk. as per uk employment laws, i feel it would be a violat...

I'll take your word for that Olisun, but we still need an answer as regards the other question. I am in the same boat... I have made an online application and have been granted with Child benefit. I am now planning to apply for ILR. Indian national has unknowingly made the mistake of claiming Child...

Yes, it is true. Think twice before switching form HSMP to WP. WP to HSMP is OK. Rules are changing every fortnight. Who knows HO might change ILR (PR) rule again. If you have choice simply say NO and continue on HSMP. If it becomes impossible that you wont qualify for HSMP then it would make sense...

Thanks for the replies guys. The 10 year long residence can be made up of legal stay under any status, including student status, so the problem is the gap I mentioned in my first post. So basically I left before one visa finished and came in again with another visa, and there was a one month gap be...

Re: Good News For Overstayers??? But If They Act Fast!

I am somewhat relieved to read and post this news on here today. Apparently, Liam Bryne has come to his partial sense and given some form of concession to overstayers to sort their status out. Overstayers now seem to have till the 1st of October to get their acts together by returning home and maki...

Good morning… I have been engaged to my fiancé for a year and a half now and we finally got sick of the commute back and fourth from USA to the UK. I plan on flying over next month and start the job search process. I will have 7-8 months worth of savings to live off while I sort out my work situ...
