My sis in law finally reached England yesterday on Christmas Day.

Personally I'd say wait until you get married, it just makes it easier and simpler for you and the officer making your decision. A delay of a couple of weeks is nothing compared to months of waiting :wink:

My sis in law is college educated from Pakistan and she has a reasonable grasp of English. She took 2 months to study for her English test and passed first time. She got her certificate from City and Guilds.

I'd say it's pretty easy for a LLB graduate to pass

I think you would have to include the fact that you were pregnant and therefore could not travel anyway.. It seems your decision by the officer was based on a number of things but you should be able to appeal. Goodluck!

^LOL @ waterboarding @waz3x It's best to come within 3 months of the date the visa is issued and normally questions on arrival to the UK vary from, one or two questions about simple stuff e.g. what is your spouses name, when did you get married? How long do you intend to stay in the UK? It's nothing...

I just wanted to update everyone with our news. Alhumdulillah my sis in law has received her RFC today. I'd like to ask everyone to pray that her visa is approved. InshAllah I pray that everyone still waiting gets their notification as soon as possible. She'll be going tomorrow inshAllah to Mirpur....

I emailed Gerrys too and got a standard reply and UKBA clearly states that we should email it Gerrys who will forward it on to them. :?

My sis in law took the English test with City & Guilds and it took forever for the results and certificates as you can see from the timeline below.

Yes waiting times vary and people don't always get the same timelines for example, last year my sis in law applied in october, got her visa in november and was in the uk by december and my other sis in law applied in july and it's been 3 months with no response. :cry:
