Re: Australia Visit Visa

I am answering this myself in case someone else comes along with the same query. When applying online, you just have to provide colored scans of the documents. Certified copies are required only for paper based applications.

Australia Visit Visa

Hello, I want to apply for a visit visa for my wife (she has a non EU passport) to accompany me on a visit to Australia. She is eligible to apply online. My query is regarding the supporting documents. The following link, http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/600-/Visitor-visa-%28subclass-600%29-Tour...

Re: Want to Cancel Naturalization after Applying.

While I cannot comment on OP's circumstances and intention but just wanted to say that even though a country might allow dual citizenship, gaining another citizenship can sometimes lead to some restrictions or disadvantages in the original country e.g. holding public office etc.

Re: Marriage Certificate/Birth Certificate need to be Notari

I have recently applied (and received) visa for my wife at VFS in London. Our marriage certificate was not certified/notarized and it was no problem. We only had to pay the visa fee.

Re: Marriage Certificate/Birth Certificate need to be Notari

Both VFS and Italian consulate require the marriage certificate to be certified when applying for a free visa as an EU family member accompanying or joining the EU citizen. You have to pay the visa fee if the marriage certificate is not certified or if you are applying for a tourist visa.

Re: April 2015 Naturalisation -Knowledge of Language Require

Just to let you know about my experience, I was asked to provide the UK NARIC certificate of comparability for my degree from majority English speaking country at my NCS appointment when I applied last year. So I guess having it might be better.

Re: Schengen visa-Indian Marriage Certificate

Thank you Donutz. You are right in that EU visa rules do not set down rigid rules to show that the applicant is related to the EU citizen. For example, I am reading the last paragraph on page 6 of this, http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=COM:2009:0313:FIN:EN:PDF which suggests tha...

Re: Schengen visa-Indian Marriage Certificate

I will try to look through some of the links for handbooks posted above but was wondering if having the marriage certificate attested/legalized from the embassy of the country mentioned as a requirement in any of EU handbooks or is it just a VFS requirement?

Re: Schengen visa-Indian Marriage Certificate

I recently went through this to apply for a Schengen visa (Italy) for my wife who is not a British citizen yet. I am however a naturalized British citizen. There were no visa appointments available from the Italian consulate in London for atleast two months! Searching around online, it seems that it...

Re: Passport office LOST my supporting documents!!!!

Looking at the timeline thread, it seems that usually the documents are returned around the same time as the invitation letter to book an interview. I received this letter on 19th of ...

The HO approval letter mentions that you have to take it with you to the ceremony. My council ceremony appointment letter also mentioned that you have to bring the HO letter with you otherwise you will not be allowed to attend the ceremony. On the day, both the letters were checked and kept before t...

When submitting my application via NCS, I was told that Home Office carries out spot checks, so although we are sending certified copies they might still ask to see some of the originals.

Re: A couple of questions regarding Naturalisation

I have no experience with that but it should be possible to renew the passport at one of the consulates.

I don't remember how far in advance did I apply but my new passport was issued one and half month before the expiry date on my previous one.

Re: A couple of questions regarding Naturalisation

I have renewed my Pakistani passport at the High Commission for Pakistan in London and they returned my old passport.

Note that the referees cannot be related to you. The application form mentions it and I was also asked about it during my appointment at NCS.

There is no requirement for writing a covering letter. Although I don't see any harm in writing one, it might help the case worker if you want to explain anything.

I have recently done my ILR application at Croydon PEO, I didn't write it as my case was straight forward.

I have had a visa refused (though not at a PEO) in the past with statements printed at a bank branch that had coloured logo of the bank with all the required details (name etc) but obviously looked different than what you would get in the post.

If I were you, I wouldn't take the risk.

Although the details have been removed from the page below, http://www.nadra.gov.pk/index.php/products/cards/nicop but in the past, you could travel to Pakistan on an overseas passport along with a NICOP card, used to save the hassle of using two different passports and/or visas. Maybe getting in to...
