Re: EEA PR - Ironing out the details

Form S041 is valid, even though it does not appear on the Home Office's list. A Form S041 confirms that for the period indicated in section 5, you were covered by your home social security system and that any healthcare you obtained in the UK would have been reimbursed by your home country. It there...

Dependence is not the only ground for claiming a right of residence. As "extended family members" they would also have a right to apply to reside with you if there were serious health grounds that made them reliant upon you. Another ground is that they are member of your household. For that they wou...

Hello, I'm afraid you can't apply for an EEA family member's residence card if you don't live in the UK. If you live in another EU country (other than Portugal), you'd have been issued with the local equivalent of the residence card. Under Directive 2004/38 you must be able to use it to travel to th...

They should have said that EEA residency visa does not meet their requirement before taking the money out of our bank for the mortgage and survey!! You will find that some banks accept a residence card as sufficient evidence. However, some banks insist on you having been in the UK for a certain num...

I would suggest that you try other banks since not all banks require EU citizens to be permanent residents in order to have a mortgage. If not, you might want to raise the matter with Your Europe Advice. They can issue a legal assessment that you can then present to your bank and ask them to reconsi...

Suggestions

You could try including statements of any joint bank account, council tax bill, telephone bills, home insurance etc. Any document that shows both your names is what the Home Office is looking for. As for your ex-husband's passport, perhaps he can agree to get a photocopy of it certified as a true co...

Beware Scams!!!

Suggestion

@JennyK An EEA family permit should have been issued to you. It appears that the Entry Clearance Officer got your decision wrong.
