GOT MY APPLICATION APPROVED AND HAVE RECEIVED MY BRITISH PASSPORT ALREADY.

So they do not need your cancelled passports even if there are current visa or proof of legal entry in them.

UPDATE: She kept her name without the surname until naturalisation. At NCS, we changed the name showing the marriage certificate as evidence. Changing name at time of gaining british citizenship appeared to be easiest and smoth as compared to other options.

NRE accounts only accept foreign currency deposits which are then converted to INR. So NRE account won't work for what you are looking to do. There is an option to open an NRO account which only accepts INR deposits, but again, this is no good for you either. If you find a workable solution to this...
