Re: Applying for a passport under Covid restrictions

Hi, in relation to first time passport online applications, applicants must send supporting documentation including original birth certificate and naturalisation cert. Can certified copies be sent? (Certified by solicitor).

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Not sure but the article says 'A further 2,500 applicants will be contacted by the end of June. By then, the Department will have contacted all of those who were in the system for two years as of 30 December' - good to see.

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

It says no on the online portal to enter CMU2. However on the payment screen after entering my card details it wouldn't work. Don't know if anyone has similar issue or the issue is with my bank

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I think Taki there might be a problem with the new online system (I could be wrong though). Also, were you able to successfully upload any of the required documentation? It seems like it does not successfully do this? (or is the a file size issue?)

Re: Is there a way to track citizenship application?

There appears to be an online bot on their website (called Tara) but it is in development where you will be able to check your application status. In the meanwhile, you could ask your TD. They might be able to ask a PQ to check it's status, or the status of your application.

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I think you are right. When they are asked a question, they respond to exactly what is asked it seems. Asking about when they expect any developments in relation to this or a timeline for their development of virtual ceremonies, they might provide more information. Perhaps ask your nearest TD when y...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I agree Christina. While the Department said it was only a pilot virtual ceremony, there was quite a bit of fanfare and media coverage of this. It would seem strange to hold off on rolling this out, particularly with virtual citizenship ceremonies rolled out in other countries like UK, US, Canada, A...

Re: Citizenship ceremonies on 3rd July 2020

I'd imagine a lot of the current delays comes down to their inability to do the large scale citizenship ceremonies because of COVID. Apart from the recent 'pilot' virtual ceremony, there has been no clarification about if/when a large scale virtual ceremony might be carried out. They have merely sai...
