I am on a Tier 1 (General) visa and my wife-to-be is on a Tier 4 visa, we plan to marry shortly in the UK. Will I be able to extend her stay with me in the UK as my dependant without her having to leave the UK and apply from abroad?

This basically suggests that irrespective of whether she is on Tier-4, Tier-2, or even Tier-1 visa in UK, to obtain a dependant visa, she will need to apply from home. Correct?

So to confirm, if I (Tier-1 General) marry a student (Tier-4 visa) in UK, she will not be able to apply for a Tier-1 dependant visa from within the UK, but will have to go back to her home country as a married person and apply from there?
