You are subject to the 12 month cooling off period unless your tier 2 general job is on a salary of £159,600pa or more.

Oh my lord!, the UKBA has become so harsh! It should have been half (around £75K) in my opinion?

Re: ILR REFUSED APRIL 2015

To be honest - there is no point in passing the blame to the accountant. If you are a responsible employee or director - you will make sure your tax files are uptodate. "Faulting the accountant", is a general trend I have seen in these boards - and in my opinion & experience it is to cover either fi...

Re: Is Tier 2 General VISA is Legal to do contracting?

There are organizations that will arrange a T2 General visa transfer for a "fee" and would require "you" to find projects thereby you generating an income for yourself and the company....... Not an ideal situation, strictly not illegal (as long as they pay employers NI contribution) but there are st...

Re: ILR REFUSED APRIL 2015

This has been discussed many times here, and I think it is still worth repeating. UKBA Case workers are trained to read validity, originality and context of HMRC documents with reference to your ILR application. If you are claiming income, this could only come from two(2) sources a) income from self...

Re: Will I Need A Visa?

Hi, I live in the US and looking to come to the UK. I've been offered one week's unpaid work experience this year for a music magazine, and I was wondering if I'll need a visa and if so, what kind. Thanks! You don’t need a visa if you’re coming to the UK for activities allowed under the following v...

As a director you have two options to take salary, one is PAYE and one is dividends. Yes ofcourse i am not taking 50k or 200 k as my salary. but the money i am receiving from my clients, i will be taking that as PAYE plus dividends. As stated in above link, if director is taking money out from his ...

I don't know why you keep worrying about that silly FPN and parking charge. Once paid , they are closed. Get over with it. FIXED PENALTY AND PARKING FINES ARE EXCLUDED, so that does not have to be included in the application form. Fyi, there are about 25 million motorist in the UK and more than half...

Re: Another Fee increase by the UKBA

There used to be a time i.e roughly 12 years ago - then ILR was "free", yes free! when you qualify to get it... Interesting observation: Unit cost = Average time spent on a case X Case Worker salary per hour Average case worker salary = 24K per annum = £12 per hour. So Average the time spent per ILR...

Also try Nationwide - they do consider tier 1 & 2 applicants with UK residential status for a minimum of 3 years.
As a general rule with both Halifax and NAtionwide, 25% deposit would put you in a safer position to secure the mortgage.

Re: Contracting for same employer outside IR35

IR35 is not about working practices, it is a legislation to tackle tax avoidance. Put it simply, If you declare you are working "inside IR35" -then you pay more tax. If you declare you are outside IR35 and pay less tax, is up to you to make sure your work is really deemed outside IR35. HMRC has vest...
