Re: UK Standard Visitor Visa - Self Employed

I understand tax clearance certificates are required for self-employed visit visa applicants. However, this may differ for some countries.

Re: Visitor Visa Outstanding - Ideas Anyone?

Why did you apply for a 2 year one? Has she had one without issues before? This is her first application. Frankly, I wasn't ready to go through this anytime soon so I thought it was better to apply for 2 years, as no rule in their guideline states you cannot do so. Worst case, they will issue 6 mon...

Re: UK Standard Visitor Visa - Self Employed

Hi All, Surprised no one has a response or opinion regarding my post, despite all the viewings. In any case, we have decided to go ahead with what we believe will give them the best chance of being issued entry visas. Thanks everyone for the viewings. I will update the post with outcome of the high ...

UK Standard Visitor Visa - Self Employed

Hi All, My sister and her husband are in the process of applying for visiting visa for a week break in the UK. This shouldn't be a problem, as her husband is a medical doctor and owns/runs his own hospital in Nigeria, and have been for well over 10 years. I have provided them letter of invitation an...

Re: Family Visit - Right of Appeal

What is your brother-in-law's status in Italy? Does he have family members or significant ties to Italy? Thanks. As far as am aware, he does have resident permit, and can live and work legally in Italy but will require visa to travel to most countries as usual, UK included. As for ties, don't know ...

Re: Family Visit - Right of Appeal

Minimal or zero rights of appeal. Thanks for the quick response. Any chance you can explain why you mentioned there is little or no rights of appeal. Not that I have any doubt of your response, don't get me wrong. I used to believe inviting a family member means you can appeal the decision if denie...

Family Visit - Right of Appeal

Hi All, My wife and I invited her younger brother that lives and works in Italy to visit the UK. He was refused visit citing they do not believe his intentions to return to Italy. We want to appeal the decision, but there was no right of appeal. I thought, as family member my brother in-law had the ...

Re: Delivery of First Adult British Passport

Hmm Thanks for pointing that out ... Much appreciated But I am not sure if it came by royal mail or not. And I though Royal Mail requires someone to sign at home and if they do not find anyone they usually leave a collection slip. I am not trying to be critical out here, but just trying to understa...

Re: British Passport - Parent's DOB Unknown

Thanks Shahid.

Good news is that I have now found the missing doc containing the parent's DOB details I used for naturalization application.

I will now go ahead and complete the section 4 details on the passport application form.

Thanks once again for your time.

Re: British Passport - Parent's DOB Unknown

I think this is a hard one mate. There will also be the issue that for the identity interview for first passport they almost always ask you for the parents details including date and place of birth - I am not sure whether they only ask about the information you provide on the passport form or wheth...

British Passport - Parent's DOB Unknown

HI All, I am applying for British passport, but have a major headache. I do not remember what my parents DOB is. When I applied for naturalization, I chose a DOB for them rather than leaving it blank. Unfortunately, during a recent house move I cannot locate where a copy of the parent's details on f...

Yes CR001, you were definitely right. It was indeed a delay from Royal Mail. I can confirm I have now received my approval letter.

Thank you for your kind response.

Approval - British Citizenship

Hi All, I applied for naturalization in February this year for myself, wife and a child. I just received letters of approval today for my wife and child, but none for myself. This has now cut short the joy we were hoping to derive from this. I am worried that something might not be right, as I expec...

That's great news I must say. I wonder why HO have yet to publish this information on their websites. This will help lots of us avoid this money-wasting venture of using UK NARIC to confirm our English language proficiency. Surely if it was their websites, I would have had that as proof to the NCS g...
