you can extend your visa within 28 days from 17dec. 28 days is given also after any stay under 3C when the decision is pending..so than you can apply again for ILR but chose right time for the application in the middle period of your absence..than if it more than 180 it will cut in half like 179+17...

THEY RETAINED MY PASSPORT (DO NOT KNOW WHY?) BUT ALLOWED ME TO APPEAL AGAINST DECISOIN.
they keep your passport with intention to remove you from uk..

Sorry to hear about Ryan case but anyway each case is different... ryan2020 is correct in his interpretation, if an application has not been decided by 13-Dec-12 then the new changes with regards to absences will apply to the undecided applications. Perhaps UKBA has been sitting over some of such applications on purpose? Who knows? Whatever the reason, it is good ...

see ryan new rules are comming in to force from 13 of December maybe you can get some benefit from it for example: make application for an extension in 28 days from refusal(after 3C) and then vary to ILR after 13.12 if not decided by that time or make a fresh ILR application..

I called my test center to ask them to resend result to ukba. They told me once print out of result is taken they no longer can access results and they can not offer any assistance on that. I called LIUK helpline first they told me UKBA should have all the details with them and they do not have any further information about it. Then I called my test centre and they told me It should be with them as you are already issued a pass certificate and It takes maximum 7 days to update results...
