Re: EU treaty, proof of relationship: photos

Pictures would definitely be a good idea related to a de-facto relationship application. Nothing fishy about them.

But indeed not required if you are married.

Re: Urgent question about citizenship application form

You need to get that filled by people who are born Irish (not naturalised, even though it doesn't specifically say but it's preferred). I doubt having it signed by naturalised Irish would make any difference. INIS would look pretty bad they were found to treat naturalised Irish as second class citi...

Re: GNIB Soon to expire . . pending Irish Naturalisation

Indoire I sent mine this morning without them asking. Now Now I am wondering how the application usually goes if you're on temporary Stamp hopefully it'll be fine . No worries. Even if the Stamp 4 is a short term one it still is completely valid it doesn't affect citizenship applications. I won't c...

Re: GNIB Soon to expire . . pending Irish Naturalisation

Assuming you are also in Ireland and are either working or studying, you can either submit form EU1 again or form EU3 (both to request the extension of his Stanp 4 EUFam). In either case you husband should receive a temporary 6 months stamp 4 a few days after they receive the application.

Re: Irish citizenship for non eu spouse

The Garda probably though you were living in Ireland (he was actually not supposed to renew your Stamp 4 if you are not based in Ireland).

If you were to apply for citizenship you would have to lie on the form and say you are living in Ireland ... definitely not something I would recommend.

Re: Irish citizenship for non eu spouse

You won't be able to apply before moving back to Ireland and living here for at least one year (but you also need a total of 3 years residence in Ireland in the 5 years previous to your application, so if you wait too long before you come back to Ireland the time you have already spent won't be take...

Serious yes - but not necessarily something Ireland could describe as an immediate threat to its national security or public order. The directive gives very little room for member states to refuse admission.

Re: Unable to attend Ceremony, any issues?

The only consequence for missing the ceremony is that you will have to wait for the following ceremony to be granted citizenship (jsut tell them you can't go and they will automatically invite you to the next one). I don't think there is any clear policy about this, but I would avoid missing 2 or 3 ...

Re: Declaring social welfare payment and naturalisation

Thanks a million. She got a few payments. You reckon it is still possible to get naturalisation now if she was receiving social welfare payments within 3 last years? I'll tell her to declare it then. It depends on the instructions the government is giving INIS and how much was collected. With the c...

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR NATURALIZATION, COMPLICATED CASE.

No one will be able to give you a definite answer, but in short yes all of this could definitely impact your application in a negative way. Nothing much you can do about the Garda reports at this stage (except hope they will not consider it a severe offence). But to put it bluntly, if the ultimate i...

Re: Declaring social welfare payment and naturalisation

Different people might have different opinions, but mine is that it is a bad idea to lie on the form. Regardless of how low the payments were, saying there were no payments is a lie and they could easily find out. It would also give them a perfect argument to refuse the application for some reason t...

If it is a family permit to visit the UK (Ireland does not issue documents called family permits), you'd better post on one of the UK forums.

Otherwise as Leinsterimmig mentioned could you clarify what kind of application you are referring to?

Re: Citizenship helpline - Impossible!

Same experience here: email is the way to go.

If you really insist in calling again and again, you will eventually get to talk to someone. But they will most likely want to expedite the call in a few seconds and therefore not be very useful.

They usually answer emails within a few days.

Re: De Facto Relationship *urgent*

Sure people can change partner. But the problem is that right now she is lying to immigration authorities. To get paperwork based on her new relashionship she will have to admit she was lying (she cannot claim she was with both partners at the same time).

Re: How to present documents in citizenship application

I think making things clear and easy for whoever will review the application can never be a bad thing :-)

I didn't go super fancy at the time though: I just stacked all the documents without dividers but in the same order as the document checklist they give at the end of the application form.

Yeah, Jeupsy! I agree. But she is now dating an Irish guy for over one year. Maybe she marry him. But if she is on a Stamp 4 with someone else, should she get a Stamp 2 and then get married with this Irish guy to be able for a Stamp 4? I think it might be wise to see an immigration solicitor and ex...

Well after 5 years she could apply, but she would have to keep lying about her situation during the whole process. Not something I would recomand. If she can't get a work permit through her job options are a bit limited. She could become a student but obviously it is not great as she would be limite...

Solving the situation can mean very different things depending on who you talk to. Migrants have the right to want a better life, but EU countries also have the right to decide on who they are accepting as immigrants or not. Of course the best solution for everyone would be to fix the situation in c...

If the letter doesn't mention any missing document and you feel like you have submitted everything, don't worry about this :-)

It should be fine unless maybe the conviction was for violent actions.

They can't decline because of the deportation order, but they are allowed to refuse the visa if they can demonstrate you are a safety threat.

You are confusing right of admission and right to work/settle. Nowhere in the announcement of their new policy are the UK saying you can stay and work there with an Irish residence card. They are only saying you can enter the country. If you choose not to believe this noone here will stop you, but I...
