He replied to my initial letter immediately, asking me to confirm that I live in his constituency. Once I had confirmed by email, it took perhaps a week or two to get the application successfully concluded. UKBA admitted to me that it was only when the MP contacted them that they actually assigned t...

Volverine, I would suggest keeping on at your own MP. I was in the same position as you, a few months ago. Only through the involvement of my MP did we finally get the application processed. Perhaps follow up your letter with an email. Some MPs need more encouragement than others, but there is a cle...

Biometric card received

Here's an update on our situation. After 6 months of waiting, we phoned UKBA but they wouldn't tell us anything. We wrote to UKBA and they did not reply. So, I wrote to my MP. Hi Brychele, Thank you for the reply. I wonder if your nationality helped speed things up? My wife is Japanese. I think there is only one change since the original fiancée visa, which is the marriage certificate, so it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to check! I called UKBA a few days ago, bu...

Waiting times - why so different?

Hi Brychele, congratulations on your quick result. I'm curious how it is that your application has been processed so quickly. So far, we have waited 6 months for my wife's FLR(M). We believe it is a straightforward application and the fiancée visa was granted with no trouble in just one week. Does a...
