set(o) section 11 question + P60 issue

hi everyone, i've been searching the forum but i still need some clarification on section 11 please. I came in on a HSMP in 2007 and got two tier 1 extensions (the first extension expired months before i qualified for ILR). I'm a bit stumped about section 11 on the form. I'm not sure if I should pic...

Do you have any documentary evidence to show your presence in the UK around that time? If so, that will be sufficient. If you cannot find any, you'll have to take a chance and hope that the caseworker is reasonable enough to take the facts into consideration. i can lay my hands on my flight ticket ...

ILR application without entry stamp on passport

hi all, I am planning to apply for the ILR in November this year. My problem is that I entered the country from Ireland and my passport was not stamped at arrival; and this happened all the times I entered the UK via Heathrow while I was resident in Ireland. I was issued my visa (HSMP) in July 2007 ...

why now we draft a letter over the weekend, and everyone each prints out a copy and sends it to the MP concerned (Immigration minister) ?

it would be effective if we can get up to 500 people committed to doing this which should give it some traction.

I don't know if writing an open letter to the MP in charge of UKBA is an alternative to doing an e-petition. Something just occurred to me, is it possible to have a sticky topic with processing time lines for people whose applications have been with UKBA for at least 3 months? at least if we can ga...

Is it possible to have a petition for this? It is really sad that they have no automated online system with status updates. I would imagine that for UKBA it would reduce the the number of calls they get if they have such a service, and given that the government is trying to save money I'm surprised ...

I was not aware of that. from some of the posts in the forum I got the impression that the docs are just dropped in the mail box without collecting an acknowledgement of receipt.

sending special delivery pack with change of circumstance

Hi all, I want to send a change of circumstance form for my pending application with UKBA. I need to change the correspondence address and I'm thinking of including a self addressed special delivery envelope with it. I guess I want to find out if anyone has sent a special delivery envelope to UKBA a...

thanks so much Manka. i'll do just that. i think doing the postal application has turned out to be probably one of the worst decisions i've made in my entire life. the strain the waiting has put me under is beginning to affect my health. the next time i have anything to do with UKBA, i'm going to us...

biometrics bar code not scanning at post office

I do agree with Raxs completely. A question for Chris - If you are ready to pay extra money for a quick feedback, why don't you pay extra money and get a PEO appointment.? I am just trying to be logical here. well that's part of the problem isn't it? this forum is full of comments about how hard it...

a number of valid points have been raised in this discussion so far. as i said in my first post, this was my opinion which might not be popular. and obviously some divergent opinions have been raised too. it's a free country, we are all entitled to these. back to the original topic of the post - a p...

i should add - one can't raise a petition saying that the fee changes are unjust. why? 1. we have no contract with the UK government regarding fees. the contract with the government allows us to work here having met certain eligibility criteria - which is still up to their discretion. 2. if one says...

i would support a petition for better service: e.g. give prompt feedback, allow applicants track the progress of their applications, and faster delivery.

i would not support a petition against new fees on the basis that it is not a "right."

I know this would not be a popular opinion, but I don't think it is right to proceed with this petition. the government can always give a "take it or leave it" argument, i.e. people on tier 1 visas are here by choice - they are economic migrants who unlike asylum seekers do not face persecution back...

lest I forget, for the £1000 we also get a service that provides no feedback on the status of applications. phone lines that are never picked and not even a web page with a tracker on their website.
