Re: Don’t travel during a pending application

Thanks for your response. We managed to postpone the trip by a week given I didn’t want to take the risk. That’s the maximum that we’ve been allowed by the hotel without losing money. I’ve not heard of going digital. Appreciate the links - will read further now. In the BRP world, can we travel on he...

Re: Don’t travel during a pending application

Hi there. My wife has renewed her spouse visa and has already received an email that her application has been successful. We haven’t yet received her new BRP but her old one’s dates are still valid for another 2 months. We are due to travel outside the UK 2 days from now for a week. 1) Will her appl...

Re: Complicated Spouse Visa

Dates: 1st spouse visa start date: 25/02/2020 5 year ILR qualification date: 25/02/2025 Optimistic second spouse visa start date assumption: 1/07/2022. I have read that UKVI will add a max of 28 days from the e...

Complicated Spouse Visa

I’m a BC and my wife is on her first spouse visa due to expire in Sept 2022. We have committed to a couple of trips to Europe in July and Sept. On looking to apply for a Schengen visa for her the requirement is that her U.K. visa has to be valid for at least 3 months after leaving the Schengen area ...

Re: Is there a delay in HO approving British Naturalisation?

This is useful. I also only just decided to submit my naturalisation application with quite bad timing really. I did my biometrics mid-Feb and have not heard a peep since. Just tried calling UKVI off a number from google and after following the prompts in relation to what my query was it basically h...

All done. Included the details and attached correspondence on the charge. As you say, no harm including it if it's not deemed relevant but not worth taking a risk on. Thank you for the advice.

Re: Traffic Offence Declaration

Will do exactly that. Thanks very much! When doing the online app at the start it asks whether applicant has an application with the home office that hasn’t yet been decided. Always wondered what that is for. Maybe something like this and it somehow gets linked to your original app based on a refere...

Re: Traffic Offence Declaration

I submitted the application online last night without declaring it assuming I was okay to proceed. Seeing the 2 messages of advice to simply declare now have me concerned. I've scheduled Sopra Steria appointment for mid next week. I wish I had seen your messages before. Any follow-up advice now?

Re: Traffic Offence Declaration

Thanks for your replies. I have accepted the charge and have been offered (and I've accepted) a driver retraining course. This avoids any form of conviction or points in which case I don't need to declare. The guidance link above technically notes that there is no requirement to declare a fixed pena...

Traffic Offence Declaration

I'm eligible to apply for British citizenship in that I've lived in the UK over 10 years first on Tier 4 student visa, Tier 1 PSW visa, Tier 2 work visa and finally ILR. I meet all the requirements. In the last week I've had my first ever traffic infringement in 6 years of holding a full UK licence ...

Re: Naturalisation application and marriage in parallel

FYI you don't need to be a citizen to sponsor your spouse. I have just applied to sponsor my wife and I'm currently on ILR. I was due to apply for Naturalisation late last year but decided to postpone that as we planned our wedding and applied for her Spouse visa - that was obviously the priority an...

Re: New ILR process, Time to decision

This forum's been quite helpful for me so thought I'll tag my experience to an existing thread. I've applied for ILR via new service. I had the option to use old or new service and opted for new. I live in London. When I submitted my application online, the only service centre open in London was the...

Re: ILR Super Priority - decision times upto 6 months?

Hi all, Just to close the loop on this one - my application was approved and I received my BRP card today. My appointment was the premium lounge in London on Nov-19th. The premium lounge, which although comfortable, is probably not worth the £200 that I paid ( I wanted a decision this week which is...

I'm actually in the same boat here. I have a job offer which I expected to start in Jan but my passport and documents are still at the Home Office. It's a permanent offer and I'm switching from Tier 4 Student to PSW. I did expect to have my docs back in time but to no avail; and I've had to bitterly...
