Re: Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Yeah, I saw that. Oddly, the form hasn't been updated since January, and the question it refers to on the form doesn't ask anything about NIC contributions (even though the guidance says that you should list them).

Re: Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Thanks for your help, noajthan. The bit about P60s I took from Guide AN, page 8: 1.48- 1.50 You must provide details of all your National Insurance contributions made for your current and previous employment during the past 10 years. To support this claim evidence can be in the form of payslips, P60...

Re: Advice on filling form AN for naturalisation

Hi there, I have a few questions about the AN form. 1. If I submit my form through the NCS, and keep my BRP, do I tick "Yes" or "No" to the question asking if it is enclosed with the application? 2. Do I *really* have to dig up 10 years of P60s and payslips for them to do NIC checks? Some of mine ar...

Bank statements and 28 day rule

Hey, I've got a PEO Glasgow appointment Friday. I'm just reviewing my application form and noticed on page 67 under "Your Finances," Note 4 says: "We do not accept internet or cashpoint statements as evidence of finances..." I was intending to submit a stamped printout of the online version of my ba...

Hi Laxmipathi,

I have an appointment at PSC Glasgow in a few weeks. Can I ask why you included a Disclosure Scotland check and water bill?

Re: Entry stamp missing

No, it won't cause a problem. German passport control didn't stamp me in to Germany either in 2011, but I did get a couple of questions while leaving Germany. There were no problems when I extended my T1G in 2012. When I went to Gran Canaria last year, the Spanish didn't stamp me out. I've been thro...

Re: ILR - Tax Discussions -

I have a question about salary sacrifice. I'm in a salary sacrifice scheme for pension contributions (i.e. my entire salary is shown on my payslip as a "top line" credit, then there is a salary sacrifice deduction before tax is paid). My P60 for the year shows only my pay after the salary sacrifice ...

Re: 5 months short for 10 years continuous stay

Hi iiubus,

I guess the requirement isn't explicitly there but the form asks you how you're supporting yourself (i.e. how much you earn and where it comes from). I don't know if it exclusively means employment earnings.

Re: 5 months short for 10 years continuous stay

Sorry to hear about your situation. I assume £40,000 is the minimum you need to get 75 points, and you're not covered by the HSMP JR? You could always count back to see if there's a 12-month continuous period in the previous 15 months where you do come up over the threshold. You do need to be curren...

Income verifications?

Hey, What are these "income verifications" people are talking about? I'm approaching my application for ILR in July and have been in full-time permanent employment for the 5 year period of my Tier 1 General. When I initially applied for leave as Tier 1 General I used income from work while on PSW an...

Unused holiday as earnings?

I recently left my job and the company owed me some outstanding holiday time. They included a payment for three days of unused holiday on my last deposit. Does this count toward my earnings for Tier 1 (General)? Or is it only my salary that counts?

Thanks

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

But what about the part that says all absences must be justified and for a work-related reason, and that you need to provide documentation from employers, death/sickness certificates, etc.? It reads like these apply to *all* absences, and not just those over a certain amount.

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

The break between jobs won't be a problem, as long as you're over the earnings limit. The rules say that earnings can be from more than one source, and you don't have to be continuously employed. Your unpaid absence *might* be a problem, because strictly the rules say that any absence has to be docu...

Re: NHS Health surcharge scheme - Tier 1 Visa Extension

I doubt that the Scottish government will bring in separate NHS charging at point-of-use. Westminster could try to force the Scottish government, but given the recent referendum result I don't think they would try it. However, because immigration is reserved to Westminster, the NHS health levy will ...

Re: NHS Health surcharge scheme - Tier 1 Visa Extension

I don't know, but the consultation said all temporary routes, which would include Tier 1 General. However, if the levy doesn't come in until April, it won't apply to Tier 1 General because the T1G route is closing. So, take from that what you like :D. The worst thing about this levy is that because ...

Life in the UK test guide updates

Are the Life in the UK test study materials updated annually? I'm looking to sit the test in the new year, but would like to use a friend's (post-2013) guide to save buying a new one. Is it likely to be still relevant? Or will they be publishing a "2015" edition?

Re: NHS Health surcharge scheme - Tier 1 Visa Extension

I believe you'll see it in place before April 2015. Possibly even before January, based on the Minister's statement on the latest change to immigration rules: https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/immigration-act-commencement-and-statement-of-changes-in-immigration-rules Finally, powers are being b...

Re: Tier 1 (General) Ext Application form queries

What form are you looking at? There's no K7 or K12 on the Tier 1 General extension form (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-extend-stay-in-the-uk-form-tier-1-general). Your "Home Office Reference Number" would have appeared on your letter granting you the initial Tier 1 Genera...

Re: Reporting changes to HomeOffice

I don't believe this is the case. I think under the Biometric Permit regulations, you always need to inform the Home Office of a change in address. Here's some info: https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp/overview In particular, this part: "You must report changes to your address, personal...

Re: Travelling on other passport while visa is out for exten

I would strongly caution against it for the following reasons: * An immigration officer is not obligated to admit you when you arrive in the UK; * You must (by law) present a BRP at the border if you want to be admitted under your Tier 1 General status; * If you lie and say you're coming for a holid...

Payslip "Authenticity" letter

Reviewing the current immigration rules, it looks like Appendix A, Section 19-SD, has been updated with new documentation requirements for payslips (page 14 of https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/329208/20140711_Immigration_Rules_-_Appendix_A_MASTER.pdf ). Arriving via Dublin

When I transit Dublin airport to come back to the UK, I understand that I pass through Irish passport control, but never UK passport control. Do the Irish border agents understand the Tier 1 residence permits and allow you in with no trouble? Do I have to do anything once I've arrived in my UK desti...
