Re: Citizenship ceremony on Tuesday but travelling on 8th Fe

I'm confused as to how they can enforce this new rule. If I hadn't been a member of this forum there is no way I would ever have known about this rule as we applied back in October. Its true that they've introduced it without much publicity. I applied in November and wasn't aware of it until I saw ...

Citizenship ceremony on Tuesday but travelling on 8th Feb

Hi all, My wife's citizenship ceremony is on Tuesday but we travel to the states on 8th Feb, so less than 2 weeks after. She won't have time to get her first British passport and just found out about having to send her BRP card back within 5 days. I doubt the right to abode certificate would be here...

Serious issue... TOEFL test

Hi all,

My partner has her ILR PEO appointment on 5th September and she has a TOEFL pass certificate.

I have just seen today that these are no longer being recognised.

Is there any chance she will get approved with this or will it be a definite no?

Any advice is welcome.

Hi all,

Just wondering if the same thing applies for TOEFL English test that will have expired before ILR?

Thank you in advance.

ILR SET (M) earnings query

Hi all My partner will be applying for ILR in September and I just wanted I ask a quick question about our income. We got our Spouse Visa under the old rules, ie. before the changes in July 2012. Are there rules regarding minimum earnings for the ILR SET (M) application? We both hold full time jobs ...

No the copy of my passport wasn't certified by a solicitor. None of the copies I sent were. And yes, my wife translated a letter from her work as proof of where she had been working. She also sent 6 months of payslips but didn't get these translated. It has to be an official translator registered wi...

I believe she can only apply for the visa from Venezuela. She will have to go to the embassy in Caracas with all the documents and get her biometrics done. So you can apply online and choose the date but she will have to be in Venezuela for the appointment. As far as sending the documents, it is pre...

Well we had been visiting each other back and forth so we spent a lot of time gathering all our documents together. I did forget something once and sent it via DHL. It was expensive but only took around 4 days to get there. But we did spend a lot of time planning and made a full list of all the docu...

Hi. Yes we got married in the UK. My wife was on a "Marriage visitor visa" which is basically permission to enter the UK with intent to get married while there. There is a minimum disposable income requirement. When we applied I think it was £110 a week after all bills, loans, rent etc had been paid...

Changes to immigration law on July 9th 2012

My wife is applying for the spouse visa next week. Her appointment will be on 6th.

Does the date of her appointment avoid the changes that are happening on July 9th or will the new laws come into practice while her visa is being reviewed?

Many thanks. [/img]
