Hello everyone! I finally received back my documents and some good news! I wasn't given the 2 year visa I applied for, but a 30 month discretionary because of a six day overstay between applications. Here's my info and timeline FLR(M) Application made: Jan. 22 2012 Returned invalid after fiance visa...

Hey everyone, 6 months and 17 days and still waiting! I've been in contact with our MP caseworker. Usually she gets back to us in a day or two with the usual "not been processeed" reply from the UKBA. This time, she says she is waiting for a response from the UKBA and it's been over a week. Hoping t...

Well, just to commiserate with all the others who have passed 6 months and received meaningless updates, I called the UKBA today as it's now been 6 months and 2 days. I was told my visa has no been processed, that the applications are done by biometrics date, and that there's no other information av...

It's so great to hear about people getting their decisions! Keep the good news coming, it gives the rest of us hope! My husband contacted our MP for a fresh progress enquiry on July 23rd. We heard back a few days later that "your wife's February 2012 application as a settled refugee remains awaiting...

Almost 5 months

Although I am sincerely happy for those who have had their decisions made and documents returned, it almost doubles my frustration with the UKBA. I'm very confused as to how applications are decided. How is it that some people from January and February (like me!) are still waiting yet there are peop...

Hello, I am in exactly the same boat as you. We applied in January ( a month before visa was going to expire) with an out of date form so the application got sent back. By this time the visa had expired. But we were given the opportunity to reapply. Still waiting onthe decision. Has been 5 months w...

Oh god, the postman rang up that I had a parcel and imagine my disappointment when it WASN'T my documents and visa. Sorry to hear that no one else is having any luck either, I hope we all get them soon! Quick question. I'm supposed to travel on June 13th (which is not looking likely at this point) b...

I am starting to think do the MP's actually contact the HO or is this more of a studied sob that they repeat to anyone who asks them to contact the HO. I have my reservations.... I received a very similar response from my MP today. It's ridiculous. In my case, I know that they did contact the HO, b...

Still no word

Still haven't heard anything. If we don't hear anything by Monday, we're going to ask the MP to contact UKBA again, just to keep on them. Applied: 22/01/12 Returned as invalid: 22/02/12 Fiance visa expired: 22/02/12 Fresh out of time application made: 28/02/12 Acknowledgement letter: Dated 01/03/12 ...

Re: Waiting FLR(M)

Hi everybody... Like everyone in this forum, I'm very disappointed :( My husband & I made contact with our MP and his Office. Not heard anything for 2 weeks now. We had quick response from the MP Office and they sent letter very quickly to UKBA. We spoke with the office to see if they had heard any...

Now they want new photos

My husband and I contacted our MP to make an enquiry and they finally received some information. Apparently our application is "awaiting the caseworker's decision." Vague, but at least that means it has a caseworker and it's not waiting to be given to one. But as another sign of UKBA incompetence, t...

FLR(M) request documents back or wait it out?

I don't if anyway can answer this, but... I applied for FLR(M) (which was six days out of time) on February 28th and enrolled my biometrics on March 26th. I found out today that I need to return home to U.S. for an urgent family matter. I thought about requesting my documents to be returned but read...

Thank you everyone for the replies. I ended up calling the helpline first thing yesterday. When I told the first person I talked to that it said Mrs. instead of Miss, she told me I needed a new letter and transferred me to someone to do that. I talked to that person, but this time mentioned that it ...

Biometrics letter- out of time app & wrong title

Hey everyone, just received my biometrics letter after sending in an out of time flr(m). Two questions, Does this mean they are treating my application as valid? I filled out my paperwork as miss maidenname as my title to match all my docs, but my biometrics letter says mrs maiden name. Do I need to...

They didn't specifically give me a time period. It just said it's invalid and you can send in the right one, but it didn't mention anything about my overstaying. So I called the UKBA and got many different answers. Some said I should go back and apply for a spouse visa but I was also told I can appl...

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I posted my form more than 21 days after the new one was made available, I just never checked so it was my fault. Other than that and that my visa has now expired, my application is straightforward. So, do you think I have a good shot of getting my visa?

FLR(M) returned invalid, fiance visa expired in the meantime

Hi everyone! I entered the UK on a fiance visa and my husband and I are now married. I applied with the FLR(M) over a month before that visa was due to expire. It was turned two days ago as invalid because I used an older version of the form. The letter gave me instructions on submitting a new appli...
