Biometric residence permit for spouse ILR

Hi guys,
I will be applying for spouse ILR next month and I was wondering do I need to get a biometric residence permit before making application? I originally came to UK on 2 year spouse visa in August 2010.

MY HUSBAND GETS ESA AND DLA AND I JUST BECAME UNEMPLOYED. WE HAVE 4000 POUNDS SAVING. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF I STILL CAN GET SPOUSE ILR? IF YES WHAT IS THE BEST WAY OF DOING IT?
